I originally attributed the quote to Mr Morrison, however I have been reliably informed that he in fact acknowledged that Gov Hurley was his source. So I changed my quote to reflect the origin.

Well, there you go. It always pays to check. You did something that I didn't!

So now I did the right thing. I checked. This is what The Australian published on February 2 2016:

Australian of the Year David Morrison has revealed he appropriated the line he is best known for using in championing gender equality in the army from former chief of the defence David *Hurley.
Speaking on the ABC’s Q&A last night, Mr Morrison rejected host Tony Jones’s claim that he had been the first senior member of the Australian military to champion diversity in using the line, “the standard you walk past is the standard you accept”.

Morrison had used the line in his now famous:

"On all operations, female soldiers and officers have proven themselves worthy of the best traditions of the Australian Army. They are vital to us, maintaining our capability now, and in to the future. If that does not suit you, then get out!"

speech on 8 March 2013. But David Hurley had used the line first, and great man that he is, David Morrison acknowledged that the quote was not his originally.

In our house iron is a four letter word. I can barely bring myself to iron shirts for work. I am not ironing bedsheets.
A friend of mine used to iron her family's underpants!
When her iron when on the blink (definitely over used) I offered her mine. She said she needs an iron she could keep and not just borrow. Told her, 'that works for me'.

I don't mow..... he does not iron. House block = 1 acre with push mower.... I win.

Mstr andye2 had quite a severe house dust mite allergy since we moved here (the bugs (like children) seem to thrive in the warmer Australian conditions)

We ended up getting covers for the mattress and duvet which is where a lot of them hide

He did benefit from oral desensitisation treatment

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

But not before 30 April when I lose status. :(

I had a status run all booked for last week and was flying in F to NZ on sale and return but had to cancel. At earliest I will be able to fly after 27 April as none of the consultants or GP will clear me to travel until I've seen the Haemotologist.
Bit of a pain :( But you need to be safe. We went through this with Mr FM, who had a Pulmonary Embolism as a result of his primary illness. Was on Wafarin for 9 months and then had to jump through a series of hoops with a Haemotologist before he could go off. Still better to be safe - status can be won back your life can't.

I think I am in denial how serious it was or could have been. It was just a small lump and my shoulder just feels like a muscle strain. So I am just grumpy at all the inconveniences. I don't have a primary illness, was going to the gym, no flights in last month so it was really out of the blue.
Lucky MrP is WP.

WA police doing ID checks on QF 776 to MEL tonight. First time I've ever seen it domestically

How many cops? was the ID checks at the gate or on board?

2 officers, both down the aerobridge. One in J and one in whY.

QF pre announced it in the lounge, so can't be a sting. Just found it rather odd.

The goose in front of me pulls out his APEC card and argues for 5 minutes before getting out his licence.

I'm no criminal but I can never see an advantage to being argumentative to a police officer.

I agree that arguing is ridiculous - "they are just trying to do their job".

But legally, what power do they have to require provision of ID? Under what law?

The T&Cs of any QF ticket for starters:

  1. Photo ID at Check-in
If you are travelling on an international flight, your passport and relevantdocuments will be required. For domestic flights in Australia (flights QF400and above), you must be able to produce identification, such as your driver'slicense, Qantas booking reference, Qantas Frequent Flyer card, Qantas Clubcard or credit card used for the ticket purchased. For domestic flightsdeparting from an international terminal (flights QF001-399), you may berequired to produce photo identification.
