Does anyone here have a facebook page for Woolies? Tried searching with google / facebook searches.

Not happy (1st world), and told them when I left the store.

Even after moving more then one row, I couldn't see a price.

28 'cartons' in the 1st (of 3) 'row', directly in the walking isle, blocking any price(s) which may exist!

Rather easy to find their page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/woolworths/

No, that's not a knock-off; it has the blue tick and various people complaining on it.

What was the problem? That you couldn't find the price for the SKU of water that is stacked on the floor?

Whilst obviously that's not good because you either have to find out at checkout or get someone on the floor to tell you, is that against any consumer laws? Not saying you need to make that kind of complaint, just interested.

Those bottles of still water are rather deep aren't they?

I have struggled to find the price for Select water in many Woolworths stores.

Mainly that it is all stacked on the floor, 4 levels high.

Not really safe when either kids or even adults (when/if busy) walking past.

Anyone notice with quite a few upmarket or trendy restaurants these days that prices are often quoted without the full 2 decimal places on the menu?

For example, instead of a coffee for $4.50, it might just say "4.5". Or, a dish which costs $16.00 might just be written as "16".

I find nothing wrong with this, except that it presumes that people understand that, for example, "7.7" means seven dollars and seventy cents, and certainly not seven dollars and seven cents.

I think about this because apparently one thing which is very difficult to teach to students who struggle with maths in school is fractions, and one of those skills is understanding decimals and comparing them, e.g. students would struggle to tell which is the bigger of 0.5, 0.05 and 0.005; 0.7 or 0.2; 0.1 or 0.05; 0.7 of a dollar or 50 cents; etc. etc.

So glad it's the end of the Easter weekend.

Definitely made an error by not planning anything (well more correctly - cancelling my plans and not replacing them with anything else).

I ended up doing some work, reading 2 books, and drinking a fair dent into my cellar. So it wasn't a total loss.

Most productive use of insomnia? Doing house work!!

Have barely slept for a few days with raging sinuses and shift work sleep pattern confusion. So have done a good clean of the kitchen.

Haven't done this much house work since my uni assignments were due.

Still not long until my next shift starts at 0400 hours! Then a day off. :)

Yes, I can imagine that might be a bother. Especially if you had to try and down them all by yourself... ouch!

I think cooking them in some sort of dish, e.g. creamy mornay pasta etc. might "prolong" them a bit. But that's then a waste of prawns per se. Plus that's also no real guarantee.

I reckon After the first 2kg it'd be time to cook'n preserve the rest ... or chuck em out ...

...or call friends and neighbours!

Don't tell Goodonya!

it's the peeling that's the bother, especially as my hands are cut up from the lobster. Prawns are a true food where it takes a while to work up the taste temptation to overcome the effort required. BBQ on Good Friday with the BiL consisting of prawns, lobster, a dozen sand crabs plus BBQ'd Garfish and Snapper. BiL was puffing up by the time we left and spent a good 12 hours riding the porcelain bus. Hence we got the prawns.

Managed to peel a big chunk of them, maybe 1 KG left unpeeled. Plus maybe 20 peeled and couldn't eat tonight. Had them fresh lemon juice and salt with seafood sauce. They were caught Thursday, cooked and snap frozen on the boat. Think they should last until tomorrow or Wednesday.

Thanks for all the tips.

Anybody notice they have the kids stacking the shelves at like 7-8pm now. Just makes it a mess trying to navigate around trolleys and rubbish everywhere.

I noticed that a couple of years ago. Clearly trendy. Maybe it saves ink.

Saw a "Prawn peeler" being spriuked at the Easter Show on Saturday that might have made it easier.

My guess is that it looks less cluttered. Might save some ink, too, though a restaurant would have to go through a hell of a lot of menus to gain even a hair of a saving.

There is probably a psychological trick in that the price difference between dishes looks less if it is done to 1 decimal place
