Seen in my local supermarket in Calgary (AB), a plastic tub of mixed nuts described as "Nut mix, ultimate organic (bulk)" .

Price for 268 g is C$28.92 No, that's not a typo or a mistake on the tub label (they were all priced the same). ~$108/kg for mixed nuts.

They must have been lovingly grown each tree with its own horticulturist at that price. Eat slowly :)

A bit similar (well not really) we have developed a taste for caviar flavoured potato chips. Very yummy and they do not break the bank unless you want to eat lots of them. They have truffle flavoured ones as well.

Apparently people at work thinks its ok to go through my bag to pinch my newspaper if Im not in my office at lunchtime. That's definitely a new one for me

The indecent behaviour you keep reporting on your work colleagues (who supposedly work in a professional workplace) continues to astound me.

Its the first odd thing thats happened here, Ive only been here a few months. Unless you count the student who really wants to sit next to me at lunch, even if it means nudging other people out the way
This one has really made me quite angry. My bag is under my desk in my office, I popped out to the market/bank and came back to find it gone.

I'd almost be tempted to report that. Imagine if your entire bag was swiped; not just the newspaper.

In fact, even though our floors of our institute at uni were not open to student or general traffic, we were well advised to make sure belongings were secure at all times. This meant that offices were locked and ladies insisted on bringing their handbags (even to meetings).

As for the student who insists on sitting next to you... well............

I should have listened to you Dame
:(

:( Same here, however in an attempt to cheer everyone up, driving through a small town north east of Milan in the Italian Alps in June, I noticed a dog running up down the fence and I thought that looks a familiar breed, so we did a u-turn and went back. The dog was very affectionate and obviously was full of energy, I'm sure it wanted to be out there rounding up all the passing cars.

On the way into the village we passed these guys that were just chewing their cud, bet the dog would have liked to have been rounding them up as well!

Our floor is secure, and I had my purse on me. Its more just the fact that someone dug through my bag which was under my desk in my office; I'd never think of going through anyones bag. Theyve come and apologised.

Another shot of the dog here, from side on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfinICWxpvo

This one if from Rally Argentina in 2002, Tommi Makinen clips a bank and does several rolls, one of them over a spectator/camera man, it's hard to see as it's not the best quality but at about 5 seconds in the white object that the car goes over is a person. maybe they thought they were going to die and just turned their back, it seems no attempt was made to get down.

Did they proffer any kind of reason?

"I wanted to do the daily sudoku puzzle" is not a reason...

Just had the plumber here for the third time in two months. *sigh* He has properly identified the roof leak and will hopefully be able to fix it now. I don't blame him, not at all. I assumed the leak was coming from a box gutter in the roof (don't ask!), turns out it's the result of a bad repair to the angle in the roof guttering. I think there should be laws about the way extensions can be attached to homes.

Home ownership is at once a wonderful security and an impossible bind.

They wanted to do the quiz and 9 letter word. It is a daily ritual for us to do it over lunch, but thats no excuse to help yourself to my bag...

You would be amazed at the internal wall damage done from high fronted gutters. Gutter Grip | Gutter Overflow Solution
At least you knew about the leak.
