RIP Mr Walker.
MrP as a member of ACA (first class cricketers association) receives a free skin cancer check every year as well as a general assessment. Back in his days of playing, no sunglasses, drinks only once an hour regardless of the temp, and as sponsors, Benson & Hedges handed out cartons of cigarettes every match. Times have changed.

Had the privilege to meet 'Tangles' many times. I knew his mother first, through my work. As they say the apple doesn't drop far from the tree. She was an outrageous character herself. And he was just so likeable and pleasant. Vale.

Jokes aside ;). Try think about no traffic lights throughout the city and burbs, flooding and high winds. For the entire state.

Looks like the heaviest rain is just passing over the city of Adelaide now according to the BOM site. Looks like a deluge from the colours.
No power for the whole state is almost unbelievable.

Apparently a tower collapsed in the Mid North. Adelaide airport closed as security scanners are out.

And a report the Royal Adelaide Hospital may not have power. Their phones are out...

Hope our Adelaide / South Australia members are okay. Stay safe during this wild weather!

Most of the rail lines are down. Wind is so strong, the wind turbines are not working.

Xenophon says Adelaide hospital power is down. The two interconnectors to Victoria are down, the gas generators are not kicking in...

Only 20 mw is being produced in SA compared to ~7000 in NSW and ~8000 in VIC.

Predications of no power in SA till 4am.

Adelaide's CBD has been plunged into darkness, with all traffic lights down.

SA Power has listed more than 20,000 properties that have been left without power, but it is believed the entire state is experiencing blackouts.
Adelaide Airport, the Adelaide Arcade and 9NEWS studios are among those relying on backup generators.

Our bloody reliance on being green. Shame on our State Government for making SA this vulnerable.

Nick X will get a lot of support.

I'm not sure if its best being away and worrying about family and house and not being able to do anything or being there and worrying about family and house. :(

Sympathies that this should cause you yet more worry. For others in SA, on another serious note, be careful tonight as when the power went out in NE USA and Canada in 1965, there was a massive popn explosion 9 months later. ;)

LOL wonder if X will demand that SA get/increase their disaster insurance cover or start a disaster fund :p

Xenophon wants levy inquiry

Senator Xenophon will not vote for the levy unless states, especially Queensland, are required to take out disaster insurance or implement some other prudential measure like a disaster fund to minimise the impact of taxpayers following a natural disaster.

Have this weird feeling there is a bunch of Canadians and Americans about 50 years old who are terrified of thunderstorms and the dark!

Been such a sobering day with the news of Maxi's death and Cy Walsh's not guilty finding. Schizophrenia is such a mongrel of a disease and psychosis is one of the more serious symptoms. I know from family so it is pleasing to see the judgement but so so tragic for all the family.
I feel the weight of mortality greatly upon me this evening.

Keep your spirits up. There is lots to look forward to.

True, though my mood is not helped by the news that a good friend of Mr L_t_L is in Sydney just having had bowel and bladder removed with stage 4 Bowel cancer. He is younger than me too. Mr L_t_L rushed down over the weekend to support his wife as they are not from Sydney.
What is WP's mantra? How I hate cancer? I can really relate to that.
