The lovely people at Taringa Mercedes were kind enough to only charge us some $278 for the diesel fuel filter on last service for a four year old B200. Given that one can buy same in the U.K. for £19, we have declined their generosity for our next service. Oh yes and they only wanted $110 for a wiper (blade) replacement, and that was for one blade. Found these at $40 per pair online.

I did email the service manager and dealer principal on the issue of their kindness, but received no reply. I thought that was quite rude.

I assume, from prior experience, that they would be as equally as generous and caring in the price of a petrol filter as well! Wiper blades are the same price on petrol cars.

Lucky it wasn't BMW or they would probably have tried to get you to finance an A380 while you were there
Having said that listening to some of the stories on the radio this evening about car loans to apprentice chefs, single mums etc did make me think that the role of ASIC is to protect the irredeemably daft

Not limited to travelling. Affects almost every part of my life including health. But you get used to it after a while.

Fruit bats sometimes a problem in Melbourne.

We have a season fruit bat issue, usually in winter.

Fig trees are wrapped in netting and with a few shiny Christmas decorations... and a mother in law that will run around with a 2 x 4 to scare them away.

Fig trees are wrapped in netting and with a few shiny Christmas decorations... and a mother in law that will run around with a 2 x 4 to scare them away.

Fruit bats like the apricots. I think birds get into the figs but I usually get my share.
Got a great crop of Silvanberries at the moment; put some netting over to deter the birds and it seems to be working.

We have some sort of berries growing in the front that the fruit bats loved... which brought on the great flying diarrhea of May 2015.

Every morning was hosing down the house, driveway, even a car of this black/purple muck. Thankfully, the tree didnt have much fruit this summer so the bats had to occupy themselves with the mandarin tree

Petrol cars don't have fuel filters anymore. These days there's are strainers (for life of vehicle) within the fuel tank. The fuel washes the strainers so all the dirt stays in tank.

Before I decided on a VW Golf, I had a look at the Holden Astra. Quite a nice car except it uses premium petrol.
Im 185cm tall and can fit quite easily in a Mini (car) as well. Years of sitting in whY trains the body to fit into small spaces.

Interesting case of road rage yesterday from a guy who decided he should get to drive down the middle of the road and took offence to me trying to pass him in the opposite direction. Drove head on at me, then angled accross the front of my car and screamed abuse at me. I ignored and moved around him, then parked in front of my mum's place. So he went around the block, pulled up next to me and screamed some more abuse. Wrote down his rego details but not quite sure what to do about it.

our prune tree had quite some fruit this year until the bats took care of that, just waiting for them to go after the peaches next, good thing is the peach tree is not as close to the pool area as the prune tree

Denali if its berries on a tree it could be lilly pilly.
It has pink fruits.
