The commercial tv channels are pretty ordinary and I wouldn't be surprised if they all get trashed by the stock market over the next few years.
Scandals don't help either.

Apparently you can be stopped or delayed from leaving Australia by immigration if you have been overpaid by Social Security and you have refused to repay it. Maybe the ATO could do the same sometime in 2017 and have the HECS loans on the list as well.

But HECS is paid as part of your tax; what would be the point of bringing that up at the airport?

I think we have a pile of tax dodgers in the non PAYG class blackcat20. I could be wrong but the black economy seems to be rather large. If you get paid in cash and never declare it that person gets a HECS holiday along with less ATO to pay.

Can't be stopped for HECS.

Just saw a future organ donor motorcyclist use the bicycle lane for lane splitting...

People that negative gear and multinationals seem to be the biggest tax dodgers in Australia at the moment.

There are tax laws. Currently negative gearing has not been stopped by the current tax laws.
I am only referring to individuals who trouser thousands a year without the ATO getting any of it by being tax dodgers.
The current tax laws on Apple, Microsoft, Google and many others do need to be tightened on those transfer payments they have been making to tax havens.

Seen anyone playing Pokemon Go lately? I was in a few places when the hype was at its max a few months ago and there were people everywhere playing. Haven't noticed anyone for a while but spotted some kids in Wentworth Falls last week. Apparently Niantic is still making some phenomenal amount of money per day though.

Oldest hotel in the world?
ATP Real Estate and PensionDanmark are in a 50/50 deal to acquire the Copenhagen Marriott hotel for a combined DKK1bn (US$141 million). The 406-room hotel, leased to BC Hospitality Group, has been operated by Marriott since it opened in 201.

I did see some poeple playing a couple weeks ago

Not really - It was huge when it launched, but seems to have been quiet recently.

Nobody has been run over staring at their phone, so the newspapers are focusing on NoNews.

Mr FM and Miss FM are still playing but not as fanatically as they were - apparently Singapore was really good - they had all sorts of "things" (don't ask me what - no idea), that you don't get here.

The deficit is into the billions yet the government goes on a war on the poor for imaginary debts of $300 million because of a poor algorithm.

I think that they think it is $4 billion. Outstanding ATO is around $20 billion. Before too long it will add up to some real money.
Naturally it is time to review politicians perks as it is not in keeping with the changing times.

The myth of the budget surplus.
