The current tax laws on Apple, Microsoft, Google and many others do need to be tightened.

Adobe's $9.99 per month Photoshop/LightRoom CC deal has now risen to $10.99 as they start charging/paying GST.

Watching some sort of border security show and a US flight just arrived in the UK and pax is confused what line to use.

Officer: Green, nothing to declare, red is to declare.
Pax: Do you mean.. Mumble.. Bought something... Mumble.
Officer: Do you have cocaine? That line if you have drugs.

Yesterday I found out why some people from R&D, Marketing and Sales were in all day boardroom meetings.

I busted them watching the cricket, they looked a little bit afraid when I walked in on them.

Me: Well its nice to see the TV actually being used for once

28 or 29 minimum in Melbourne tonight = oppressive.

By BOM standards.

And by many who live here too!

Well, 36 or so today down here in Melb..
To put a comparison it feels like 30 in Brisbane, to me at least.
Quite a nice day really.
Will let you know tomorrow if Vic has same definition of Oppressive a Qld
;-)

So apparently my mother in law wants to put a small solar spotlight on the stone of my father in laws grave... a red one. Red. Who is this woman, I never saw that coming.

Bored at home.... set a guessing game, how many books do we have? Only counting those on display in lounge & reading room. Not cook books etc in the kitchen. Daughter = less than 1,500 hubby = more than 1,500, me = 2,500 (so anything below 2,000 he wins)
Tomorrow, let the count begin....
JohnM do you wish to take a guess?

What does the winner get? A jar of jellybeans? :)

I think the problem is the lack of wind and possibly humidity. Doesn't help the last couple of nights were also warm and humid with little wind which doesn't allow homes to cool down.

It's after 1am and still 28.5 in Melbourne.

The official BOM figures from January 30 2010 are actually min:13.4, max: 36.2 so it probably depends on what's classed as the "night". The BOM also has the highest minimum for Melbourne as 30.5 on 24 Feb 1924.

Regardless, it's HOT! :)

Most folks in Australia must be glad that aircoditioning was invented. Looked at BOM site and at 7am Melbourne is showing 29 degrees.

I certainly am. Am just cooling down the bedroom before going to bed. Since the curtains are slightly ajar to allow for the AC, I wear my Qantas F eye shades to ensure complete darkness.

We rarely use air con, it has to be about 45 for us to use it.

Every time we check into hotels, air con off and open windows, which made Cambodia interesting because they kept asking us if it was broken.

I'm currently sitting outside a church for my father in laws memorial. 30+ heat and incense is making me want to pass out so I had to leave.

Currently getting quotes for air-con. Then I think of all the places we could go with $12,000.00
Must be getting to an "age" thing.... wanting all the comforts, i.e travel in J & F, air-con, dishwasher, new kitchen - draws instead of getting on knees to get to back of cupboard, etc etc...
