Is your iPhone 6 working ok?

If so, have you priced the cost of a month to month SIM only/BYO 'phone (no contract)?

You could easily be $750 per year better off ...

I'm thinking of an iPhone 7 too. But my iPhone 4 is still going !!

In researching, a couple of things I noted:

Most commentators say that a 6 to 7 upgrade is not worth it. The 7 is definitely better but probably not worth the cost over a 6.

And batteries are fairly cheap to replace, if that's the main problem.

After 12 years we recently changed our go to home radio station from ABC Classic FM to SBS Chill. Prior to ABC Classic FM it was ABC local 702 for 5 years, and Triple J before that.

I love the digital radio in my car, ABC Jazz or 2JJ, I'm way too old for JJJ now. When I jump into her car (no digital) the radio is always tuned to a 'classic hits' station, boring! I mean, how many times do you want to hear "american pie" in your lifetime? :)

I'm so easily distracted these days and I can no longer multitask. I used to be able to work on the PC, watch TV and listen to conversation all at once. As all women do <ducking> Now people have to virtually yell to get my attention if I am watching TV or on the computer. 
I have never been able to multi process - intense concentration but one thing at a time. Mr FM on the other hand has always been superb (which is why he coped much better with the kids). When it comes to memory though always much better than him. The only thing that has changed over the years is that he used to argue that he was right over his recall of something, now he just accepts he is wrong :)

This is probably the tackiest way to earn frequent flyer points.

I Earned 82,285 Avios For Joining A Dating Website! - One Mile at a Time

Looks like it is valid for US based customers through the BA portal. EU residents are getting an error message and directed to UK site. Suggestions are to use a VPN... think I'll pass as while avios are great for short haul flights, long hauls can be really expensive. ORD-LHR comes in at 50K avios and £405 fees and charges (one way). Not really worth it.

The battery sucks. I think the contract price drops out automatically. Your point is valid.

The battery life and camera are much better in the 7 (vs the 6).

The no headphone jack is not an issue for me as I'd never use the phone while it was charging anyway.

When away I often tune in to digital radio whilst charging. I think that can't be done? How do you find battery life? Mine is rubbish now. Down to 50% very quickly.

My 6 is on its last legs, the battery is terrible. One minute it has 60%, drops suddenly to 20 then just turns off. Plug it in and it says it has 40% etc

GPS no longer works properly, it can never quite work out where I am. Gets lost if I change my route and cant seem to work out how to reroute me so just continues on with the previous directions even if Im no where near where I should be.

There are third party pass-through chargers available. I use digital radio too, but through the speaker, so haven't tried any of them. 7 solutions for the iPhone 7's lack of headphone jack | Macworld

Try the Battery Doctor app. I found it helped my 6S (and 5S before it) battery life.

Apple will replace the phone free if under two years old. (They say one but ACCC said naughty naughty.)

Its 2 and a half unfortunately...funny how they start to play up as soon as they are no longer covered.

That's a sign the battery needs to be replaced. It's the way batteries behave when they are at their end of their usable life - too many recharge cycles etc.

The GPS issue is another matter I think!

Apple have been known to repair/replace beyond the warranty. It can be worth a try.

might be able to get them analyse it and see what they (genius bar) could offer e.g. refurbished phone for $250 (or negotiate..... ask to speak to a manager to see what they could do)

/cynic mode: on

The guys who developed the specifications for the battery obviously got a massive performance bonus for delivering a design that expires soon after the warranty does. Near perfect inbuilt obsolescence.

Made it to Santiago!

I told the FA that their amenity bag might be the only Tumi I'll ever own.. So she gave me extras

About to close doors, will be in Santiago for late breakfast.

Bag guy told hubby he was going to move Hubbys bag to fit his in.

I told him, Touch the bag and you'll get what for real quick.

I'm officially the crazy person on the flight

Hmmmm . OK, I think we need to discuss bin allocations for tomorrow's flight :)
