Loved Murray Ball - growing up on a farm you could relate to so much of it RIP

Rang my mother this evening (as I do on every Sunday) but it was special today as it would have been their 76th wedding anniversary. And also the same day as my grandparents. She was laughing about how things had changed over the years - from the birth of my eldest brother in 1941 when she had no idea of what to do through to my younger sister in 1957 where she was put in a room with an iron lung all fired up ready to go in case there were any polio cases. She was appalled at Pauline Hansen's vaccination comments, though she says that politics is beyond her now and she doesn't follow anyone. She is a real trooper with new skin cancers removed in the last few weeks (one from the top of her head, 8 stitches, and one from her throat). It's the fair skin and a life as a dairy farmer's wife. I just hope I am as good as her at 94.

This is Barry. Barry has one of those loud voices that just carry or he only has one volume.

Barry wants lasagne for dinner and he's wishing his sister happy birthday. Barry is telling the head of his IT office that is travelling with him that he has one of those power pack thingy and how everyone should have one.

Barry is now apologising to the IT guy about a email Elizabeth forwarded that has one his responses on it. Barry says, "It was just a bad joke and you're such a good guy. I didn't mean what I wrote".

Barry also says they are one of three finalists on a particular project tender and he should be able to beat the other two out as "we go way back. I'll make a few calls and we'll be the finalist"

Barry needs to shut the F up.

Barry also says Evan is onto a good thing, being married to Nancy. Nancy runs everything and he works on his golf. Evan has a 6 handicap, because he plays golf all week, while Nancy takes care of business.

Anyone the expression "dog in the manger"? It was the answer to a crossword clue the other day, I don't recall ever hearing it?
