And thanks to various lounge soups over the past month, Ive rediscovered the joy of soup. I made cauliflower (with potato, onion, garlic & bacon) on the Sunday.

Thinking minestrone in the slow cooker this weekend.
I make two soups every week - only way to get decent amounts of vegetables into Mr FM. broccoli and green apples works very well, also Butternut, sweet potato and brown pears :)

To be honest, I didnt start to adult until my mid 30s.

When I see kids stressing out about schooling and career choices for "the rest of their lives", Im like pffftt. Relax, go on a Contiki tour, you might have a few careers in your life. Its going to be OK.

My 24yr niece is planning on leaving home due to promotion move and romance - her parents are "why do you want to leave us?"

My mother in law (bless her soul) hated onions, so my wife would cook a fried rice and hide chopped onions in it and say there are no onions. MIL always say wife's fried rice was very nice

Why do people think they dont have to clean up after themselves in workplace kitchens? Yesterday there was what looked suspiciously like a pubic hair in the microwave. Today I had to send this email around:
[h=2]Can the person who exploded a scone in the microwave please return to clean up the mess they left[/h]

I'm starting to think I work with an office full of children.

But the weather is so hot, too hot for a hot soup. :)
I do love a steaming bowl on a cold wintry day though.
Although not a fan of chilled soups we had a very tasty gazpacho when we were in the Amazon a few years back. It was really refreshing given the hot and humid weather.

...... Yesterday there was what looked suspiciously like a pubic hair in the microwave. .

The mind boggles

someone eventually cleans it up thats why

I dont touch the microwave but I like emptying the fridge - I give them two warnings and then I just toss everything.

A week or so later, a complaint about someones pyrex or tupperware is missing - not my problem, you were warned. They rarely do it twice.

Yikes!

I saw this yesterday on someones feed, might be appropriate.

We use to have a "Stinky Tuna Chick" person in our office. Cant remember her name but every day she ate stinky tuna.

Im totally ok with throwing out the science experiments in the fridge but I do not deal with stray hairs and exploded food.

Except they dont. Its not the cleaners job to clean the microwave nor is it mine. And I bought a 600m roll of glad wrap so theres really no excuse.

I dont own a microwave so what are they suppose to do with the glad wrap?

My first day with this company, I was so excited because it was close to home and they had a proper kitchen and yeah, I can microwave left overs.

2nd day, standing in the office lunch room in front of the microwave, coworker came and helped me. Telling me what all the buttons mean, presets, timer ect.

Me: Im trying to figure out how to open the door.

Cover the food so it doesnt spray everywhere.

Food sprays everywhere? Seems like a good idea that I dont own one then. Or a toaster. Or a kettle.

I discovered the other day that my sandwich maker doubles as a toaster so I dont have to grill it anymore :)

I have a teeny tiny kitchen so I dont clutter it with appliances

Yes, a lot of foods bubble and splash all over the inside of the microwave.
