You seem to handle parenting much better that I do.

Perhaps Cruiser Elite was right. Not everyone was meant be a father.

Bull dust - parenting is very much like a duck on the water.

It is a rewarding struggle honestly.

It was a light hearted moment Cruiser. A ;) would have spoiled that moment?
No a smile would have helped but we are all guilty of missing them occasionally - he'll I got into the bad books when I forgot to add the  to the 'leave pass' comment - but I did think they both knew me well enough.

FTR Johnny - it is so clear from your posting that you are already a wonderful father to your little Bub - who would have thought ;) - you only have one step to go and that is to start spending less on golf and more on hotel rooms so the darl and the Bub can sleep in real beds instead of lounge chairs.

Qantas epicure are not really trying hard enough to sell wine.
Tried to make an order of 3 different groups of wines; and got to the final stage where it said that one of the selected wines was not available.
No indication of which one, even though a hold was on the credit card.
So I sent an email to customer support; this was Saturday 18 March and they decided to ring back today 27 March with no caller ID at 4:18pm, missed the call doing work and all.
5 minutes later got an email saying we tried to contact you, please ring us again during certain hours.
Really if you don't want the sale you have said so at the start, well saving money might go and spend more on wine this weekend at a place that wants to sell it.

Bose aren't much better was on hold for 9 minutes during 12:30-1pm, and they didn't answer the call, I will try them tomorrow, looking to replace the padding on a set of QC15s, I could try ebay but had a bad experience with some supplier just recently, they didn't know what they were selling in the end they didn't have what I wanted, at least they did some checks, and I ended up with the money back but a bit of a waste of time.

The washing machine sprung a leak over the weekend so I see the repairman on Friday; the starting cost is $187.88 or something like that.

A bonus today. Was HH blue as of 1/4/16.Stayed 1 night and got elevated to Silver.
Today got an email saying because of my stay history in 2016 I will be gold from 1/04/17.
I did stay a second night in 2016.
TKWIA.

The entire class seemed to finish the test earlier than the time limit.

That would suggest that they either did well on the test (and the test may have been too easy), or some finished having not done so well and gave up on checking.

I got both.

The wife won't let me book expensive hotels. Promise. She audits the books thoroughly. ;)

Sounds like you have not been running the secret service with the wife JohnK. I think it is healthy for both in a marriage to know what is going on financially in their lives. If you put your head into a pizza it is much easier for the survivor to know what to do and how to carry on.

IT is something I should be into but my eyes tend to glaze over pretty quickly these days. So many apps and so much that doesn't always work.
Are you preparing these young folks for employment at Virgin? Their IT is suss. Or perhaps HSBC seeing their web page to get started is broken.

Senior high school IT, cove
Ah, set many an IT exam for the Yr11 & 12 classes when I used to teach. Their semester exams went for 90 minutes; usually with theory and practical sections with test student log ins. Though, come to think of it, I may have set the odd interim test as well (worth maybe 15%). It all depended on what unit was being taught.

Have you been watching the cricket then?

Much of what is taught in schools just creates "users" rather than "creators".

The vast majority of kids learning a musical instrument - some practising for hours to get the musical piece "right" are no more than good users of the instrument. They wont be creating anything musical anytime soon. The really creative types are not practising for hours on a piece created by someone else.

Is it the same for "IT" in schools and tafe?. I remember a friend who said she was going to study "computer" somewhere. Her family thought she must have been smart to do that (ie akin to Google nerds). It turns out she only learnt how to use Microsoft word.

Who are the brightest?. The ones who get the highest ATAR?. It seems to me that the whole system is skewed to those who can do well in exams and memorise.
We are just creating large numbers of people whose education just gives them a basis for earning a living via the "dollars for hours" method.

I have olives and anchovies in pizza and anything "gourmet" in them

We visited the Musicians Hall of Fame and my husband practically sobbed over an old sound board.

These days, anyone can call themselves a artist or producer with a app that lets them create (manipulate) sound but put them in front of an old sound board and there will be tears.

Also saw footage of how music was recorded in the old days. All in one room and one take to get it right.
