Yowsers. Don't you just love the first response of the Shopping Centre! That escalator is seriously long. 3 years almost to the day I believe. ;)

This medical conference I'm going to tomorrow is presenting a serious challenge in that there are so many sessions I want to go to, where is my junket time for shopping with niece and sister in law :o

In a great move they are having a 'free of charge' patient day on the Wednesday with some great talent presenting. I paid $50 to go to the complete conference which is just starting as I type. Not attending the opening session 5pm Sunday.

I have just been told I am the worst parent EVER... Miss 8 has no internet
My wife says I'm a useless father. She's probably right. Playing games and falling asleep snoring while she takes care of our daughter.

Is surreal the right word? Still hasn't sunk in.

I trust she's joking?

Channel 9 news (Vic) just spent a few minutes about the evacuations occurring in Qld due to Cat 4 storm Debbie which may become Cat 5. At the end of the bulletin the weather presenter comments about the Cat 2 storm that "might worsen". You would think the weather at the very end of the program would be the most up to date. Palm, meet forehead.

Hang on tight, Queenslanders.

Think you are a good father - it's a steep learning curve and you never really master parenthood :) You are in it for the long-haul.

It's a commercial station. Are you surprised???:)

I saw Daniel was driving a hired Volvo and we are driving a "poverty pack" Hyundai that has no sensors and no reversing camera. Still I cannot really complain as it is $30 US a day with comprehensive insurance included. It has made me wish that more road repairs were being made as we feel all the bumps.Driving in California is always a bit challenging.

He went upmarket and arrived in an Aston today.

Apparently the jury is still out. I tend to agree with my wife's comments.

Today is the first time that I have noticed where my daughter is taking a lot more interest in her father. She hasn't seen me for 1 week and as soon as she saw me she was smiling and laughing and has wanted to be more and more with me today.

I was bombarded with multiple iMEssages from Miss 10 last Monday morning to turn her apps on bfore 6:30am.

It's a shame I put my phone on aeroplane mode at night when all of my family are sleeping in the same house as me. :P

Parenting isn't easy JohnK, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Yes it can be draining mentally, but it's a continuous learning curve.

The building across the road is on fire. Smoking billowing out from the roof, could be equipment failure.

Me to staff: THIS is why I make sure we always make you evacuate, we never know if its burnt toast or the real thing and remember, this building was built to the lowest tender so we dont want to risk it.

By the time I got to child no 3 I had some vague idea of what I was doing. Even then I got it wrong, as each child was unique, so what worked for one wasn't right for the others. I sometimes think I would love to go back with the knowledge I have now and do it all again.

You seem to handle parenting much better that I do.

Perhaps Cruiser Elite was right. Not everyone was meant be a father.
