I lost ~2kgs in ~12 hours on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Didn't have any food and didn't drink much water. Drank only Diet Coke/Coke Zero.

I was too busy doing other things to take notice of my hunger.

Losing weight is a good thing. I'm not so sure the increase in Pepsi Max/Coke Zero/Diet Coke consumption is a good thing. It's like I am hooked.

Our unrefurbed 747 did have the old F.We had chosen 2K,3K.but someone at QF had moved me from 3K to 1K.My goodness EKWIA.

I did a most un-AFF thing. After the original glass of champagne I only drank water.Food-only a bowl of cauliflower soup and half of the pasta dish.Result slept for 5 hours so not feeling too bad.

When we arrived at SYD the Captain announced we had an Immigration problem on board so to remain seated until authorities had finished their work.Mrsdrron was talking to the CSM when an economy FA informed him they had a young child with a fever and red spots all over.I am guessing measles. One young child at the gate was obviously out of sorts and crying most of the time.I presume that could have been the one.If so they were South African so a real problem for quarantine.

That's fluid loss, not weight loss.

old F is OK - a flat bed is fine, it is that sloped J one that is the problem :(

I never quite understand this. I usually leave my F bed slightly angled anyway. No problem with 8-10 degree beds. If you have the bed flat, given the flight angle you are actually lying downhill backwards.

Wretched news, I was looking forward to coming back to Pakse for the internet and to find out who won Rally Corsica. Certainly didn't expect to read anything like this.

This is so sad, an extremely talented person on many fronts, the world will be worse off without him.

I hope he is having a beer or a wine with Murray Ball.

It's funny - I don't 'know' the John Clarke of now. To me, he is Fred Dagg.

Kiwis are putting out their gumboots today to mark his passing.

Well Fred...that will be the door.

Fluid loss is still weight loss. All that happened is I lost some of the 3-4kgs of excess fluids I am carrying around every day.

Lasix does the trick but long term use of Lasix is not recommended.

But as soon as you rehydrate it's back. Lasix is a long term treatment for hypertension.

only slept in a sloped one once and ended up aching with a really stiff neck. No idea why but as it has only happened on the sloped version, I am blaming it until proved otherwise. Mr FM had the same experience.

different body shapes maybe, or way of sleeping?

I'm staying at a friend's house in Japan, and a panel on the wall in the lounge just announced that the bath has reached it's set temperature.
I need this in my house right away.

Can't see why 8-10 degrees would cause neck issues. Bad pillow, lack of alcohol?

Which boat? Vat Phou?

Yes. They still don't have wi-fi.
I read your posts of your trip and put it in the back of my mind, walked into their office in Luang Prabang, got a good price, only us two and 12 boat staff plus guide. Two others had to cancel, apparently.
