Our EA had a nice Toyota that was a few years old but ran well enough. She had no plans to replace it. Someone slammed into her rear with a 4 WD. He was totally at fault as she was stationary at the red light. And had been for a while. Her car a write off and looked it. Trouble is it was only valued at $3.5 k. Where on earth can she buy a safe reliable car for $3.5k. She then had to take out a loan and buy a car. Not fair really.
So did your EA have a market value or an agreed value policy?

Don't look at the internet for a few days and wow, so many posts to catch up on.

Did I miss anything important? Probably not....
Define important young'un ? But before you do ponder these - Wynns Harold @47 / WB Black Label @59 / Wynns Michael at @87 - get back to me when you can kiddo.

this is Dr FM's problem. She had a plan which involved saving and buying a new car in 2 years time. Her current car is 10 years old, so if it is written off she won't get much for it and so will either have to lease a new one, or ask the bank of Mum and Dad to lend her the money. The young kid who came out of the give way was totally at fault, just didn't look, but Dr FM is the one who is without a car and trying to get home late at night after long shifts at the hospital. Anyway such is life - at least she wasn't hurt.

Is the other person insured? The insurance company of the other driver did end up part paying for a rental car for some of the time but it was post spending the money and not guaranteed.

Don't mess with QF WP. Went to Tribunal hearing yesterday (we were the respondents to the Application). Always get good legal advice.. applicants had requested 5 orders to be made against us. I successfully countered their points and Adjudicator wanted to focus on the main argument [whether agreement made between us was breached (as contended by them) or had been frustrated by a third party (our position) and we had put in place the necessary steps to fulfill agreement]. Adjudicator agreed there was sufficient proof and denied all orders and proposed new ones accepted by both parties (although they weren't happy). Indoor Beach Volleyball opponents (and the ball) felt my frustration last night and nice red before bed. The world goes on.

London traffic- took 77 minutes by taxi from Wellington Arch to Tate Britain this morning by taxi. Approx 2km . Price £35.40. Views priceless.

Was there a particular reason you went by taxi? Can walk it in less time and still get the views. Or did you take a circuitous route there, perhaps via somewhere obscure. :)

Trying to pack for two (consecutive) trips in different hemispheres has been an interesting challenge. I like to pack well in advance (unlike some ) but trying to divy up toiletries and clothing is doing my head in.

You really expect sympathy?
Have a wonderful trip. I expect you will experience a few 'firsts' this time.

Tell me about it, last time we hit a Columbia outlet as I didnt have enough cold weather stuff/didnt grasp the concept of how cold a USA spring can be/it was snowing!

And I figured we are due for a lost baggage situation, as it hasnt happened yet, so Ive started splitting clothing into 2 bags so if one goes awol, at least we both have clean underwear each.

Haha maybe just a little...it's all in Y :p
I'm just worried I'll forget something important....

I think I'm mostly sorted; just need to throw underwear and toiletries into the bag for the second trip, and PJs into the first. And always spare undies and a t-shirt in the carry on bag! At least packing for summer means packing stuff you arent wearing currently so that makes this a tad easier.

There are some things you can't forget. Where are you off to? Hawaii from memory? Plus others from the sound of it.

This is why I like dive trips to the tropics. Sarong, tshirt, cossies and lycra wetsuit and not much else needed but the airport outfit.

I remember having to go shoe shopping at Marina Bay SIN because I only packed a pair of crocs and forgot we were going out to eat, where clothing and shoes were required.

On a 1 hour Y flight? :shock::lol:

I've still got to unpack from the weekend before we leave for the weekend tonight :p
