You mean something like TV? Or space for some plonk coming back?

Haha I think I'd be in a bit of trouble if I forgot him  I am packing very light, but I'm not sure wine will be a priority for our US trip this time around.

 Do you eat at many places where clothing isn't required?
At a lot of dive places, you can get away with a sarong and cossies for dinner. Shoes optional. One dive island I can recall doesnt even have floors in their restaurant, its sand.

And a nice one indeed. I wonder how many women are WP in their own right. I usually get a 'surprise' look when I flash the card. Or maybe it's my age.

I make my hubby a WP and with enough SCs, he gifts me WP or vice versa. Hes WP until May next year and then hes dropping to SG while I will be WP.

I find no matter what the status, he usually gets more attention than I do. FA personally thanked him on our last flight for being WP and how his loyalty is appreciated. I got zip.

Sometimes hotel points can come in useful.

Flying to Newcastle this weekend, so I made a hotel booking using points, the quoted pricing was outrageous, the best thing about points bookings on IHG it means the booking is then flexible.

Then I decided to change the booking and have a 2nd night, but first I had to cancel the existing reservation then using points and cash to have enough points for 2 nights.
Then I decided to cancel that reservation to go back to 1 night, best thing with IHG is that your purchased points come back as points.
So now I am back to 1 night in Newcastle on Saturday night, and now have 30,000 points available for a hotel stay in Melbourne for AFF Xmas gathering since the Hilton South Wharf is changing.

So I started with 4,000 points that were about to expire and turned that into 60,000 points which I now have 30,000 points as one night and have a spare 30,000 points that could go into 1 night or 3 nights,

Confused yet.

I'm just over the fact the QF system prioritises the male on any booking (regardless of status). Even if I book and pay with my credit card, all the booking emails come to my email account addressed to TV. They also tell me what seat he's sitting in, but all thats listed for me is a link to "seat preference".

Is the other person insured? The insurance company of the other driver did end up part paying for a rental car for some of the time but it was post spending the money and not guaranteed.
nope young kid not insured. Dr FM's insurance company covers, as a not at fault claim, but no cover for hire cars.

How does he gift as WP to make you WP? Thought it was just SG gift.

I have a funny one. My mum and I went on a Princess cruise together. My husband and I went on a different cruise together. The other day postie delivered a promo brochure from Princess addressed to my mother and my husband. I don't even get a mention and they've matched them together.

Damn. Yes her policy didnt cover hire cars but the offending drivers did.

With VA, its 800 SC to requal for WP and if you earn an extra 1000 SCs on top of that, you can gift WP.

I dropped to silver but will be back up to WP, once I activate the status in August (just before flights/100% bonus earn).

That happens to me all the time on Qantas ! I am the WP and Ron is AA - but usually I ignored and they speak to him first !

Ours generally revolves around VA but we only travel for fun - but Im starting to break out of that, if the J fare is cheap enough.

I put our LAN flights to QF and then donated the points for sleeping bags that was on another thread. Was just enough for a toaster otherwise.

Trying to pack for two (consecutive) trips in different hemispheres has been an interesting challenge. I like to pack well in advance (unlike some ) but trying to divy up toiletries and clothing is doing my head in.

Zip lock bags are great for toiletries ! And you can easily see what you have got.
