The totally off-topic thread

At LHR, both BA and AA kept trying to direct up away from their first lounges despite the F boarding passes in our hands. And one 'gentleman' had a tantrum that we were being assisted and he had to wait his turn. He said something to the agent who calmly replied 'all of my guests are important' :D

I've just gotten back up to date with this thread again after missing it for a month. I still have a few months from last year and early this year to catch up on but I'll figure out a way of doing that eventually. Great to hear about travel plans and daily life.

Hope to make more comments soon.

Was his name John Hancock?

Ms FM also had the same problem when travelling in F on an AONE4. She kept on being told she was queuing in the wrong place for check in. She said they were always very pleasant but used to come and say in voices as though they were talking to a rather intellectually challenged primary school kid, "this is the wrong queue for you dear".

It's odd isn't it. I wonder if this happens on some airlines more than others? Which airlines were the particular perpetrators? BA for example is pretty used to children in premium cabins going to/from school in England.

Qantas and BA were the main ones. Maybe she was in that in between bracket - she was 20 at the time. Too old to be being paid for (although we had) and too young to afford to pay for herself?

When you travel and you use you camera in flight do you turn it into flight mode?

Just secured 2 x J seats to Edinburgh for next year... now to tell hubby that I just used 556K of his points.

sure you are going to Scotland?. Looks like Irish folk dancing?...

This is my family, who I had to explain to on the weekend that the Blarney Stone was in Ireland, not Scotland. And I was asked, "Really, are you sure?" twice.

To each their own. It's taken me a long time to get to ~175,000 Velocity points and it would be very depressing if all I can get for them is one return flight that I'd forget in a week....

Well there's the thing. You don't forget it. Well, I wouldn't anyway. Memories are priceless.

Are you suffering from dementia? Expecting to anytime soon?

We were flying to SIN and there was an older couple on their "business class trip of a life time", and they were miserable and all they wanted to do was go home. They waited 40-50yrs to finally treat themselves and they were unhappy. At least this way, we have ticked a lot of boxes before we decide to settle down with domestic trips only.

We can always earn more points.

Must admit, was feeling guilty for not buying more sleeping bags for the homeless (that Points for Purpose website) but I will soon have enough QF points for another toaster so will buy a couple of more sleeping bags.

So you would rather redeem your points for one of the worst use of points (Y) or are you saving your points for a toaster?
