There's kind-of 3 plusses for self-check for me:

<snip>
3. You can actually watch that each item prices correctly (it's not just a blur) - and have it fixed on the spot if it doesn't.

Much better to put the item through and pay the amount. Then complain at the desk that the item was overcharged and get it refunded - works at Coles and Woolies.

I'm not, we have decided to stay here for a while............................. I wish! Bring your umbrella when you come here, showers on and off, but it's warm, so it's not a real issue.
Right, brolly ready to pack!

Well, thanks to l_t_l here is the evidence. Apparently there is a time of 0722 on a very cold CBR Saturday morning. :)

You make it sound like I brought the cold weather :). Similar forecast for tomorrow as well I see. I usually walk with a friend at 7.30am on a Sunday so it may well be quite brisk!
You have to agree RK that we have had a glorious winter day.
Cooling down already (6.50pm):

We have to come home, the boss has 9 shifts booked to work over the next 2 weeks!

One thing that has really surprised me about Japan is that it is still possible to smoke in some restaurants. A lot of areas outdoors are smoke free, including streets, parks and pedestrian areas, there are signs everywhere saying smoking is banned and you can be fined, yet people can still smoke in some of the tiny eating places.

Yes, it's funny how we have become used to non-smoking indoors and forget that some countries allow it. We really notice if a smoker has been in the lift in our building - our noses have changed somewhat as we used to smoke in the long distant past.

And to think that smoking on planes was allowed, albeit with the 'please don't smoke cigars' warning. And the non smoking seats were just those towards the front.

As a young 'un going out for dinner and such like I would come home with sore red eyes and stinking like smoke. At 27 I had to have pterygiums removed from both eyes which was very young.

20 years since the HK handover. What a crazy night. One of the most emotional moments I've ever experienced.

Not that pleased to see the rolling banner on the Geelong/someone AFL game advertising Toyo Tires!

Actually, one could book smoking or non smoking seats, Qantas used to have a little amusement on flights to LHR by putting smokers in non smoking and non smokers in smoking. Used to happen too often to be accidental. :)

Oh, I know, I remember the days of a beer n a smoke home-side in a bar, or even back in the day in Spain when it was one of the Last to allow smoking in a night cafe whilst sipping vino tinto and dropping ashes over your baby's pram at 11pm.

But even today, what I do really enjoy is a cigarette between mains and desert in an obscure warum in Yogyakata, or the north eastern coastal fishing villages of Bali.

Ahh, the freedom, the memories, the Gudang Garam.......Cloves for all ;-)

But yes, even nowdays, my nose like many others, even as smokers, can now actually define the atrocity of the aroma that smoking is.

Main problem being, like me, A smokers "care factor" is quite low,

but these days, A little more reserved.

We Are Working at it....sorta

I love conspiracy theories even if they are my own. ;)

When daughter was born it was almost impossible to find Aptamil Gold+ Stage 1 formula. Plenty of Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4 formula.

Since turning 6 months it has been really difficult to get Aptakil Gold+ Stage 2 formula. Plenty of Stage 1 (there was ~12 tins at Coles this evening), stage 3 and stage 4 formula.

She'll be ready for Stage 3 in just over 2 months. I wonder if I'll have the same issues? :p

Sorry, I didn't mean you had brought the cold weather, just saying in a round-a-bout sort of way that I don't get up early, but I admire those that do - like you. I didn't get much sleep Fri night and got up at 10.30 this morning (there - I've said it) just as my wife was going to work.

And yes, we had an absolutely sunny day. I didn't notice any of the forecast wind though.

Good luck with the walk tomorrow. At those temps my nose would be dripping.

Better grab it while you can - I assume it will keep ok.

TDF starts tonight! Interesting that recent scientific report says that EPO has no performance enhancing function. Such a shame LA was destroyed by use of EPO when it was essentially just his ability and a exceptional training regimen that achieved the actual results, not to minimise the farce and cheating involved.
