I'm in the UK for summer and apart from the fact I'm having fun I wish it was like an Adelaide winter

This is Herbie the Crow.

He has lots of mates. They are very hungry at breakfast time and know there is lots of food on the buffet.

This is Dilshan.

He has drawn the short straw for today's roster. Dilshan's job is to ensure that Herbie and his mates do not fly in and grab food off the plates. Dilshan is armed with a slingshot. He does a great job but needs a little practice. He walks up and down. Up and down.

Dilshan has been walking up and down for 3 hours now. Herbie and his mates watch him tire. The buffet is closing. It's their last chance.

Score. Herbie 1. Dilshan zero.

Nah. We haven't even seen the White Walkers yet! Still some weeks to go.

There is a dedicated thread for such ...

I've just met 'Betty'. She comes from somewhere in the US, guessing east coast. Betty has to keep in touch with her children and grandchildren every day on FaceTime. Loudly! Not in her room, but in the bar in the evening and at breakfast in the morning. I know a lot about Betty's family now.

After much discussion MrsGM has worn me down to compliance and we will now be visiting Vietnam  in March, flying Scoot!

You had me until Scoot. Do they have J class?

I was just talking to a coworker who is about to do her first OS trip with her teenage daughter. I told her to pack comfy clothes for the plane (pj pants/tshirt) to relax. She was "oh, I cant do that, people will think we're weird".

I then explained to her that they hand out PJs in the pointy end. She was shocked by this news.

It's very similar to JQ

It's very similar to JQ

I wouldnt mind trying JQ J for a trip to Japan, if the price was right.

Scoot and JQ are probably similar seat-wise, but JQ offers free food and drink throughout the flight, including champagne. Scoot offers a single meal and drink free of charge, the rest you pay for (except for tap water).

JQ has some ok pricing to Japan, but JL's economy, for a fraction of the price, is probably almost the same comfort wise. Interesting too that Air China one way back from Japan can at times be cheaper than JQ - and that's for a full business class with flat beds. CA routes via either Shang Hai or Bei Jing. Earlier this year the Air China one way was about $200 less than what JQ was asking.

Apparently Columbia Cassie has cut a deal with the police for her drug charges.

In the meantime, I wonder what her mother, sister and boyfriend have done with the money from the TV deals.

I hope we never ever find out. And we never hear about Cassie again.

Interesting that Cardinal Pell is back in Australia to fight charges.

Oh ye of little faith....

That's a start. Trust he will stay until October.

I recall there's a thread on the JQ price beat guarantee but I can't find an open one. Can anyone assist?
