Mr FM brought home a whole lot of artichokes from the markets - I plan to make artichoke soup. Never cooked an artichoke before, so have been googling how to prepare them.Busy day in the kitchen.
Made a couple of lasagne (what's plural for lasagne?), made marinades to freeze for beef brisket later this week, made spinach and onion quiche with duck eggs from brother in laws pet ducks and tomorrow will attempt Korean double fried chicken in sauce.
Fifteen hundred not counting Mr FM's history books . I am sure the time will come when I will have to part with them, but not yet .We gave our old books to Lifeline for the book fair when we were moving. In Canberra though it is quite a local affair so not sure what other states are like.
Flying Mermaid needs to take careful note here; I seem to remember she has done a bit of a clean out and is now down to about 1000 books.
I knew you had a few books!Fifteen hundred not counting Mr FM's history books . I am sure the time will come when I will have to part with them, but not yet .
My current project is going through the cupboard in my study. I have over 30 years of SMSF paperwork! Mr FM has bought me a small shredder and I am getting rid of all except the last 7 years - huge task! Next will be the pile of X-rays and scans - 30 years of those as well. Dr FM says they are useless.
Then there are all the 3 ring binders with all the kids drawings and birthday cards and school photos and certificates and ribbons! Going to keep those, but when we downsize the kids are either going to have to take them, or they will go too. Fortunately (unless one of us dies, or major ill health strikes), it is awhile away.
Once this project finishes, the next one is the store room with the toys and linen. I will beat this accumulation of junk in the house!
Not beloved but certainly were whomping the opposition.Probably at home watching their beloved GWS romp over the Weagles.

Don't drink and cuddle? To anyone who criticised the PM for holding his grandson and a beer...you're gonna have to judge me too.
My newborn son is fast asleep on me and I'm drinking a 2015 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot barleywine.
Don't drink and cuddle?
Nothing wrong holding a baby and having a drink or 2....
Or someone who just likes the sound of their own voice so will try and make a beat up of anythingThat whole thing was a classic example of stupid PC.
Given the maths discussion in the last couple of days, thought this might amuse some:
...
Other than a snouts in trough fest, what exactly is the purpose of UN Security Council if they can't stop a country firing a missile across another that is not at war.
Yes don't quite understand the obsession with political correctness. That whole thing was a classic example of stupid PC.
Did a quick count 21 x 3-ring binders. Given the amount of time I have already spent, no way I am spending anymore. I had this romantic notion of them sitting down with their children and going through the records of their youth, but that is looking increasingly unlikely..... I plan to move them from my study cupboard into the now more or less empty cupboards in their old bedrooms. When we eventually downsize, if they don't want them then I think it is the tip.Friends of mine currently going through a similar set of files (but about 10 in number!) and 'thinning out' - basically a 2/3 reduction.
20s I think is way too early - mine are over or just under 30 and still no interest in taking (but also don't want me to get rid of them!)Ha ha. My friends have already pitched their binders to the kids (now in their 20's). No interest; hence stage 1 'thinning out'. Stage 2 is "recycling".
