Brother in Ireland said that he lost quite a bit of fencing as well as kennel and shed doors ripped off, all thanks to Hurricane Ophelia. He thinks he was lucky though.

(Sniped)I have days when the only thing keeping me going is knowing every second week I get paid.

I just wish I got paid fortnightly! Been paid monthly for many years and still don't like it.

Agree but life is too long to live without money. I need to save now for my daughters 13 years of school and at the same time consolidate the nest egg. A little bit of misery is OK. The light at the end of the tunnel makes it bearable. The principal at a school where I taught gave me some great advice. She said that when it was not fun any more it was time to go. I followed her advice (and should say that she did the same thing) and left teaching then spent 7 years in the PS and again when it became 'not fun', off I went. Life's too short to be miserable.
Johannes Vermeer is favourite for the Caulfield Cup on Saturday.Dutch painter Van Meeren would trace around such a picture then turn it over and paint it. Producing artwork that looks like a photo.
