This week I am working on securing seats at the new Perth Stadium. Picked up 6 this afternoon and have another 10 to secure which I hope will get done tomorrow or Wednesday.

They seem well priced. I would consider a membership (West Coast of course) except I tend to work most weekends.

We bought 10 Indian Pacific notes so that gets us buggerall other than a West Coast Eagles seating priority.

Hope you're not planning on going anywhere in Brisbane today. QR Translink journey planner not working for the time being.

TV the 50,000 seats for the West Coast Eagles members may not satisfy the demand at the new Perth Stadium.
The other 10,000 seats get split up separately for tourism packages and general ticket sales I believe.
It may be a bit easier to get Fremantle Dockers seats as they have less members.

Of course not, but 17,500 more people will be able to get a seat to each game, which theoretically means it's slightly easier to get a seat.

Nice to know that fads don't last long. Why do women think wearing pyjamas in public and going out to pubs/nightclubs is cool?

I don't think it's ever been THAT hard to get a seat to most games if you really wanted too. But yes there should be more chance going forward. And they'll be better seats to boot.

When the Sydney Olympic Stadium opened we brought 10 seats in the corporate box zone for 10 years - cost was under $400K. Got our name on the seats, and access to every event excluding concerts. What's the going rate for seats in Perth these days?

Remember how the Stadium went broke? Societe Generale (SG) held a lot of the debt; I was working in their M&A group at the time. SG turned the debt into equity and with that equity went a swag of Platinum memberships which the bank sold amongst its staff, heavily discounted.

I got a couple, and was happily able to stop buying my rugby tickets off the Ruby Club (always nose bleeder shockers) and settled into the prime rows in tier 1 IIRC. Not as good as corp boxes, and the seat positions varied, but quite adequate.

Then with the Olympics, SG as effective Stadium owner got a huge ticket allocation. One day, not long before the opening, my boss announced that there was 16 tickets for the Opening Ceremony going - but you had to take a client. Just about all of the senior guys had already snagged tickets with their families, so weren't in the running; I had a few small mining clients from the west who were unlikely to be going, so I hit the phones and - jackpot! Client and his +1 and yours truly :). All in the name of business development, of course. I still have the yellow school case and the program. If I wasn't overseas without access to my NAS box, I'd post a picture I took of Cathy Freeman sneaking off from the athlete's march-in group ... for a reason we didn't appreciate at the time.

Yes we have 4 yellow school cases too. The 2000 Olympics were a lot of fun.We went to 1984 and 2012 Olympics and loved them.
I enjoy the weightlifting....seeing contestants lift the equivalent of a fully laden refrigerator above their heads is totally awesome.

There are about 150 annual tickets to every event at Perth Stadium.I didn’t bother as we are not always in Perth these days. It might suit folks who are always in Perth.

Fats Domino has passed away aged 89. I wish music legends could live forever. At least their music lives on for many years.

ourse. I still have the yellow school case and the program

MrP still has his opening ceremony uniform from 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics. And of course the 2000 Relay Torch. ;).

My friends mum ran the torch relay as well, poor women was about 70 back then and still around. They had her running up a hill! She did it

My torch relay memory. Got my nephews and niece up before dawn to drive them to my office as the relay was going past and we had an big office morning bbq/celebration happening.

Then I drove home as they literally ran past my front door at a more decent time of 10ish. Could have gotten a sleep in.
