Going cherry picking in the Adelaide Hills tomorrow. Perfect day for it.

Cold cherries from the fridge sounds good.
They are my favourite fruit and grow in the Adelaide Hills about 10 minutes away. Last years crops were not good. This year they are perfect. Just like our Agapanthus. They have gone berserk everywhere in Adelaide. Purple everywhere. Pantone Ultraviolet colour of the year. Purple Rain.

What was it with Greeks and Valiants.
We Aussies had Valiants too. I remember the excitement when my father arrived home one day in 1967 or so with a brand new car! This was a man who bought most of our possessions at clearing sales and the Trading Post was weekly reading.

I heard it wasn't a good season and prices are going to get silly in the next week. Bought a punnet a few days ago and they're definitely not as juicy as they usually are.

Maybe you don’t get them from SA? They are really nice here this season.

Christmas shopping all done.

We also just received as a gift from my in-laws a Lionel train set for under the tree. It's the Polar Express complete with sound effects from the movie. It comes with a reindeer bell tree ornament too! (I'm going to build a box for it like in the movie).
I'm thinking we'll all watch the movie on Christmas Eve, kids to bed, then set up the train under the tree. On Christmas morning, our daughter is going to go nuts (she loves trains) and she can open the box like they do in the movie. I don't know if she'll connect the two, but either way, it'll be fun.

Yeah, mine are probably from VIC. I heard it on the radio, wasn't sure if they were talking in general, but maybe it was state specific.

These figures are exactly why I keep working.Less than $7000 per year for all travel.Tell em they're dreaming.
Fortunately I also love the work.
i read that as $70,000 and thought “OK - that would be hard, but it’s doable” and then I realised what it actually was....

Thought I’d try mince pies. Haven’t tried them since childhood and thought it might have been a kid thing. Nup. I really don’t like them at all.
I dislike mince pies - I make 7 doz every year and don’t eat even 1/2 one :). Many people tell me that mine are the only ones they like, but even that isn’t enough to tempt me..,.

I never really liked Valiants. Too boxy.

Our first car was a Kingswood. Not the Kingswood! Took it to Bathurst racetrack in 1983. Was doing 40km/h at the esses and one wheel was off the ground. Loved it down Conrod straight where I put the foot down.

Oh fond memories.

When I went to the market last week, they advised stocks are down on various fruits because of the wild weather weekend we had a fortnight ago.

Today on the radio our market report said they are plentiful and are $11.99 a kilo. Gorgeous red juicy plum like cherries. I’ll take a picture of them au natural later today :)

My office has been enjoying my mum in laws home grown veggies the past few weeks. You notice the difference/improvement in comparing them to store bought.

I’m such a failure at home grown. I lavished care and attention on 3 different types of tomatoes last year. Cost so much more than if I’d bought at a quality fruit & veg. They were ripening nicely and was checking to pick but all of them had bite marks. I though it was possums so put out a possum cage. And caught our large goanna in the trap! Naughty. Last night, same time as last year it is roaming in the same area but it’s outta luck. I’ve given up.

Same here. Spent megabucks 2 years ago on raised beds etc for strawberries, plus tomatoes of course. B-all! That’s it. Now buying from local pensioner who is s wizard in the garden.
