A Stunning performance by the Chinese Ice Dance pair to the music of Halleujah sung by KD Lang today.

Happiness is a choice, not a result.
Nothing will make you happy unless you choose to be happy.
No person will make you happy unless you decide to be happy.
Your happiness will not come to you, it can only come from you.

Sea breeze is the answer - our house doesn't have a fan or AC .... beautiful all year round.

No, the advertisements alone put me off.

Am now home with eight stitches in my arm and a tetanus booster. The local is still working so no pain yet. It didn't bleed much.

Whilst the A&E was busy I was through in three hours, must've been one of the serious cases.

And now a week off work. Some serious television watching coming up.

Some interesting points about this:
1) Number of stitches in the medical world is irrelevant - it’s not even recorded as “x stitches” in the medical record. Though absolutely understand it plays an important storytelling role in the lay community.

2) A&E walking woundeds will usually be treated by the most junior Drs. The interesting fact about early February is that these Drs are still very wet behind the years. They are essentially last years batch being sent to a new rotation who now have no or little experience because they have just started their rotation. Least experienced in February, most experienced in January.:)

Is there a secret to using council provided BBQ's at some parks? There is one 5 minute walk from us and we had Valentines Day dinner there earlier tonight. The squid sticks to the hot plate, the chorizo was OK as that is fatty, the zucchini and egg plant also can stick to the hot plate. The mushrooms and capsicum were OK. Used more cooking oil than I would have liked.

Visit your local BBQ galore or buntings. There is a fabulous product which you place on the bbq plate. It is non stick, and is easily rolled up and taken home to be washed for your next bbq.
So aside from the non stick issues, you have the added advantage of knowing your cooking surface is clean and hygienic, and your clean up is basically a roll up and take home.
I even use mine at home.

Thanks for your insight, as a patient my focus is totally on myself noting that once the triage nurse has seen me and knew my medical condition I would be treated in a timely manner.

On the medical notes for my GP it actually does mention '8 x 4.0 sutures' as well as the tetanus shot.

As for newness, you're so correct. The UK trained Dr was in his first few days at the hospital having just completed a six month contract at a nearby hospital in the same health group. He needed the nurse to show him where the suture kits were located.

We had a good talk about various places we had both seen across the UK and Australia. I needed to talk to keep my mind off what he was doing

Still I was very satisfied with the care received. It seemed to be a busy (for Wednesday night) A&E, the listed wait time was 2-4 hours to be seen. I did hear the occasional call for security to attend specific areas but didn't see anything.

The place is a rabbit warren and after my x-ray I got lost trying to find my way back to the waiting room. When the treatment was over I did ask to be walked back to the waiting room knowing I would never find my out.

Hopefully I wont need to go back to an A&E any time soon.

Oh no. My inner vegetarian soul escapes me when stuff like that happens to my meal.
I did see it in the morning market - quite weird. There were big tubs where you could catch your squid and then it was sliced and diced for you and presented on a plate. I watched but didn’t eat! Had cooked squid for lunch.

Hope the wound heals quickly and you are back to 100% soon. Glad to hear the hospital experience was good. And yes, hopefully you do stay away from A&E!

I'm all for kids should be on planes and it's ok for kids to cry but every pax on this flight should get a refund after actually watching all 4mins of this.

Kid obviously has behavioural issues but it's not fair to visit them on all these people without some compensation to them.

RUSH HOUR: Flight from hell with ‘demonic’ kid

We use the word “ suture” to mean something different. But suture and stitch can be interchangeable

In this case it’s the number of “needle and thread” used. 1 suture material (N&T) can be used to make 1 or more stitches/sutures. Some Drs try to make as many stitches with the suture material while others waste.

Stitches or sutures can be continuous, interrupted subcuticular (hidden). The number is not recorded. We could not be bothered. How do you count a 7cm wound repaired with one long uninterrupted stitch compared with same wound repaired with 15 interrupted stitches

Suture material can be monofilament, braided, dissolvable, undyed, wires, clips or glue.

Your 8x4.0 suture material would be a blue nylon used to repair the wound in a series of interrupted stitches/sutures

Hence, we would say “how many or what sutures did you use” “or “what did you suture with” rather than “how many sutures did you put in”

Confusing
