I think that snow surprised those in Charleston back then as well....................
.)

We had 2 days of snow in Savannah in January ! Brought the city to a standstill - even McDonalds closed !!!! the last time it snowed in Savannah was 1989

We left Charleston the day the snow began in January. We went to Savannah where it also snowed. They had to wait for snow ploughs from Atlanta so the whole city basically shut down.Even Maccas was closed. The grandkids loved it though.

We had snow in Nashville in April. The Aussies were not happy!

Did I mention Little Richie lived one floor above us at the Nashville hilton? Saw him one day, frail but wearing a purple suit and waved. My husband was a bit star struck, security guy (in elevator) said he was lovely.

I thought Watson and Crick discovered the double helix. Though understand that mice were the “material”

Currently NZ White Rabbits are a preferred “material/subject”. Specially bred ones for experiments are pricing at around $200-300 each

They obviously breed like rabbits so a nice little earner if prepared to do it

Apparently Russia has lots of weird statues.. Must be all that Vodka.

Seattle had lots of street art as well, funded by % of building applications. Was fun spotting it.

They were the first to explain the 3D structure of DNA, but it was Rosalind Franklin and Maurice Wilkin's X ray diffraction images that led them a long way there. Widely thought that Franklin should have shared the Nobel Prize. Not sure if mice had much to do with it, this time, but the statue is interesting. Where is it exactly, @Denali ?

Rosalinds was the photographer and provided the pic. W&C deciphered it but yes without the initial idea of using Xray diffraction it may not have been the trio who got the NP. Wilkins was the senior and collaborated with W&C. Yes always wondered why Rosalinds never got the Gong. I’ve always thought it was because she was just the lab tech who did not get on with Wilkins. Or maybe it was because she was a she?
