Well I would have like the three second answer as well, except I was honestly expecting it to be a more positive one.
I could have perhaps been a little more "flexible" in my provision of salary information. For example I only supplied my base annual income, and not the full figure including penatlies etc.

Blah.
Agree. It’s annoying when you can’t explain your unique situation. We have an investment loan on an investment property. It was put on to our main home as that’s worth more. The question I don’t know how to answer is, whether our own home is mortgage free. It was, until we bought the investment property.

is using interest free credit card balance transfers an option? westpac have a good one with 0% interest for 24 months.

It's among the options, but I was looking to eliminate a card from our inventory. Switching to another doesn't seem much of a result.

We're going to reapply as a couple, adding her small income, plus my additional penalty monies, and see how we go there.

Which property is actually noted as security? Maybe the advice to structure things in that way did not take into account/explain the downside of such action?

Our home is noted as security so guess that means it is mortgaged, it’s just the purpose doesn’t allow explanation. Agree re the advice, the Bank explained it as having the best security - for them obviously. Banks. Love ‘em.

Do people actually think that banks do anything in your best interest. Just see what the current RC is exposing.

Indeed. I thought it a waste of time but I was very wrong. I guess we’ve all had issues and queries with banks but let them pass but collectively it seems a massive rort. On the other hand their strength did get us through the GFC but their practices have malingered.

Yes the penalties for weekend and public holiday work are too significant and regular to ignore.
My favourite eldest son seems to have reduced the 3 working Foxtel systems back to one in our absence.
I hope we don’t need to get a bank loan to get those two systems back working.
Good luck with Plan B GarrettM as there are some pretty good choices out there. The zero cost ones do try to catch you after the free period ends.
Is it too late to do a long Anzac Day shift?

Why do some parents let their 7 year old kids loose on Qantas Club buffets? Just told same child to use the tongs after he’d grabbed a few slices of bread with his hands and then he put them back. I chucked away the ‘used’ bits. Parents nowhere in sight. In J lounge in Mel.

Oh how times have changed.

Indeed I will be working on Australia's Most Important Date™

Yes interesting comment about the 7yo. I have also seen similar aged children getting soft drinks at the bar area right next to where the wine and other alcohol is served after 12 PM. Does that constitute a breach in the alcohol licence. As in a club if you try to take a child near a bar area or a child wonders near a bar area unaccompanied they are quickly moved away or an announcement of the child's name to embarasses you to have to retreive them. Not sure how the law works with children in licensed establishments.

Doesn’t Qantas have a sign saying children have to be accompanied to the serving areas - I am sure they used to? But then Qantas seems more worried about whether a woman is showing too much of her foot than enforcing rules which are more important for customers comfort :)

I’ll just check right now.

basically greed at various levels. Shareholders and Analysts constantly putting pressure on banks to have a bigger profit each half and pay an increasing dividend. Plus executives who have that pressure and also want to justify their crazy salaries and bonuses. Leads to an increasing atmosphere of profits at any cost - customers just become collateral damage.

So should we buy shares in AMP now?:)

On the other hand adults can be dirty selfish pigs too.

Well done good photos says it all. I am in the Brisbane lounge and J lounge a lot and I cannot recall seeing a sign to that effect. As to the dress requirements I am in and out of many of the lounges and Brisbane would have to be the worst for the dress regulations/ not enforcing them. If I had a dollar for everytime I have seen singlets, board shorts and thongs and other clothing not in line with the Qantas guidelines I would be able to take quite a few free flights.

Sums up my major purchases I guess.

Can you tell I’m bored waiting for a flight?

Must admit I was very happy when our investment properties stood on their own and the farm was once again mortgage free. I like collecting deeds and keeping them in MY safe - not the banks.

I get you, but maybe they were simply overcome with the child glee of being loose somewhere where you did not have to ask nor pay? I have seen adults do similar so many times when in a free-alcohol environment. But no excuse really - if kids are like that the parents should be keeping them in check.

I am just lucky that my two darling daughters are so well behaved. I am always proud of their behavior in lounges, etc. But I should not be proud - it is their mothers influence that brought them up so well :)
