How did he blow it up!? I got one as a wedding gift in 2000 that finally was replaced last year.

Dont use it often but sometimes a cheese toastie (or toast) is all you want for dinner/snack.

No idea, not even sure who was using it. It was a George Foreman one...

That’s the reason. It’s just a cheap and cheerful dressed up as George Foreman who? Just so the marketing dept can charge a few more dollars.

Mrs QS swears by the Aldi coffee pod machine thing. Expressi or whatever it is. $80. Used for 2 years. Died . Replaced under warranty. Used for another 2 years. Died. Bought a new one $80. Still going. Why pay George Clooney any more money. He doesn’t need it

It was here when I started, so I take no responsibility. Not a fan of it though, so certainly not sad to see it gone.

We also have an Aldi coffee machine in the office.

I have been on hold to the ATO

The best coffee machines I use are the dolce gusto. Super cheap. But it’s like printers, the money is made on the consumables.

There are houses which have “show kitchens” with all the designer brands and a real working kitchen adjacent with proper equipment.

If I ever build another house, it will have commercial equipment and commercial gas wok that requires running water to cool the stainless steel bench and sounds like a jet engine. It therefore needs an commercial exhaust.

None of these show pony European designer carp.

Over many years I have liked many Aldi products, especially electronics. We got one of the coffee machines for a holiday house, and it was great for that.

But at home the better half demands a fancier machine - each time I manage to "visit" I have to relearn how to use it. But I think the obvious struggle I have in perfecting things like using the milk foamer just makes my wife appreciate even more me making her a coffee :)

Very important to make household chores/tasks appear to be done with obvious struggle but a cheerful disposition. Bonus brownie points accrue

I go to bedroom to hear brother in law calling hubbys name from outside our bedroom.

Me: Why dont you use the door like a normal person?
Brother in law: MrD said to not use the front door but talk to him through the window.
Me: Your brother is an idiot.

then, the dis-information from brother in laws about their mum is stupid.

Told she fell and broke her leg but no straight answer on what bone, how severe, what procedure being done ect. Go to hospital today and told she broke her hip, already had it replacement and they found a spot on her brain and sending her for a MRI.

Ah, so that’s why things tend to go a bit astray sometimes. And here is me thinking I should have just done it myself to avoid all the angst. Actually, this might be a classic case of Mars versus Venus thinking. ;)

I should add never do household chores/tasks to perfection. Always leave the job done slightly below par. But again with a cheerful disposition.

Exception: anything to do with cars need to be done to perfection

As they grew up I taught my daughters how to make a cup of tea for me. Each one went through the same progression:

1.- Joy and pride at being able to do so.
2.- Later recognition that maybe that ability was not really in their best interest.
3.- Realizing quietly that if they consistently made sh_t cuppas, the requests would cease.

I love having smart kids :)

I really dont get that mentality, all it does is p*** off your other half....

Just watching a very interesting program on ABC called 'Lest We Forget What?'

Part of it compares the Australian Military's view of the Gallipoli Campaign as very different from the media's populist hype of the subject.

Very moving and interesting.

For @Cossie check out this site for a couple of pics of my Bolwell RFN 145. While in my possession it 'only' had a grey motor but when you consider it was pushing around 150hp and the car only weighed 1500lbs (<700kg) it was very quick for 1972.
Have to find other pics in my collection to show next time I see you.

My friends was a white one, it had a Holden 6, it was very quick, but traction was a problem, needless to say he now regrets getting rid of it.

There is some difference between a broken leg and a broken hip.
Did they think you wouldn't notice that it was a different part of the body?
Hope she is on the mend and that the MRI doesn't show anything serious.
My aunt was in her early 80s when she had a hip replacement due to a fall. A fair amount of time in rehab but is fine now.
