Or, if a mobile, let any non identified number go through to voice mail. Legits ( like government!) will leave a message. But can be a pain if I have to call back and get in a queue, but thankfully doesn't happen that often. I got rid of of my landline years ago.
Agree, we let any number not in our contact list on the home phone go to voicemail. Nine times out of ten they don't leave a message so then I check though a reverse look up and block the numbers. Mobile seems to be less prone but mostly I don't hear the phone ringing anyway. :p

Boy was I wrong. $120/month health insurance premium for basic hospital and extras is cheap.

Thanks Equus, I'll have another read, but to be honest and I know I may be wasting money, I buy another policy as well. Haven't had to make a claim as yet and hope I never have to.

Got the third degree entering Portugal, but something or someone is looking after me. I was in 7F and 7E was the only spare seat that I could see on the plane.
I know we're over insured when we travel and Im ok with that. I'ld rather be a couple of hundred out of pocket than get screwed by the T&Cs fine print, especially as we and surviving parents are getting older.

Mum in law (84) fell/broke hip 2 days before we were due to come home. We didnt change anything as she was being cared for but a reminder why I make sure our insurance policy doesnt have a age cut off for death of family member cancellation or early return, some exclude over 85 and dad in law was 92 when he died.

That's pretty nonsensical. It depends on what's covered in detail and whether the coverage is appropriate to your likely needs in the next 12 months.

Could be like buying Youi car insurance to save a few dollars and then getting screwed in the fine print... which I think has happened to John.

I've said it before. You get what you pay for. And anyone who doesn't read the fine print, and understand the fine print with something like insurance is simply a mug.

I've had to take the CBA to task several times for sending me a letter 'we've made changes to your policy ...' (home and contents). They give the new wording to the changed clauses, but not the old wording, so you have no idea of how significant the change is, unless you dig out the old PDS.

Each time, they get a call from me, coffee or glass of red in hand, and they go through each change and, after agreeing that the call is recorded, and the recording can be made available to me on request, how its changed from the old wording, and its significance to ME and my policy. Once I found it was quite a significant change in my house contents policy, via simple deletion of about 5 words in the clause. You'd never spot or realise it unless you had the two paragraphs side by side. Complaint made to financial services ombudsman; CBA came back and offered significant discount on policy, but I changed anyway as I wanted the coverage in question.

Hell? Am I one of the few that dont watch TV or movies on the IFE?

I do admit that last long haul was the first time Ive watched a movie but thats because I really wanted to see them (Dunkirk, The Longest Hour and 3 Billboards), otherwise I only use it to check arrival stats and time/dont watch.

That would be affirmative Denali. :) I usually don’t watch movies but always have the flight map up.

I love it when I go shopping and buy baby formula, nappies etc and people comment with "grandchild?".

I'd suggest that the guest has abused the privilege and especially your hospitality. I prefer to either guest a person I know (AFF meet ups included) or who has a flight of their own.

It most definitely won’t be happening again.

It’s a shame, as I’ve met some lovely people through guesting into International FLounges all around the world, and Domestic Lounges throughout Australia

I love it when I’m with GPH at the nail bar and the girls call him my father (he’s 4 years older than me). Imagine if I was any younger. “GRANDAD”? ha ha

I dont have the kitchen space for a icecream maker but one day I will.

Lady in the office made choc cherry once - it tasted like cherry ripe.

I have a brilliant machine and make up about 20 litres each of mango, strawberry, passion fruit ice-cream each season. I use the egg whites to make awesome Pavlovas and take a lot of it down to the local Sunday Markets for the stallholders who provide me with the fruit.

Me? Nah. I'm with Budget but someone with NRMA insurance told fibs and firstly NRMA then debt collectors tried to get me to pay but I didn't give up. In the end end they withdrew their demands as it appeared their client was trying to pin multiple accidents on the one claim.

The mind boggles. So many good things in the world, why this?

Mind you, I love a very tarty lemon gelato. There use to be a wonderful small market brand at Coles but they took it off the market. It was awesome.

You need to check out Paci in Concord. They do an awesome Lemon Granita. I am sure I have seen a lemon sorbet in the cabinet too.

Or the lemon sorbet from Cow and Moon in Enmore.
