The mormons has no idea either, so in the end it’s sitting on the back burner though it is back to 1718 so not bad. I think the loss of interest is because no one more famous than a servant girl was uncovered

1718, That’s impressive enough.
I guess the only way forward is on the ground research, and that doesn’t always yield results.

Well mrscossie should have just landed in Sydney, and will be in Canberra in a couple of hours. I've told her to take it easy today before getting stuck into to all the chores that require her attention.
I've told her she can start tomorrow on the cleaning, gardening and general maintenance with her well known fastidiousness before I'm home in 2 weeks, only fair that I give her 20 hours off, after all it's been a relatively long flight in Y.

I expect her to have cleaned both cars inside and out and washed and polished them both, the gutters will probably require cleaning again, it's been about a month since she last did that, all the windows will need a scrub both inside and out and of course being the end of autumn, all the leaves from our neighbours trees will require being collected and taken to the Mugga Lane recycling depot.
Any complaints about a sore left hand from her recently broken finger will not be tolerated as she is predominately right handed, so I can't see that being an issue. Polishing the silverware should be possible with one hand, although I have told her she can have some help from some of her friends if required.
Lastly there will need to be shopping done and this time she best not exceed her weekly allowance as she will undoubtedly will remember the repercussions from the last time this happened.

Apart from that, I hope she had a good holiday and I'm looking forward to getting home as well, traveling by myself just isn't the same.

Please don't be offended, nor take any of the above too seriously, well apart from the previous sentence..... :)

My husband once said, "Hon, its your birthday. Rest, dont do the ironing, you can do it tomorrow".

He was serious.

I have been drunk 3 times in my life. Last time a couple of years ago, drank a bottle of snapps on my own.
I can wake up with a sick migraine at any time, I don't need to induce one.

Are we due for a full moon because the commute to work was crazy today.

I try to be extra calm, I repeat "Ive only got a 4klm commute, let them in even though they are creeping up from an emergency breakdown lane, let them in even though they are trying to turn right from the far left lane, its OK the ahole in front doesnt wave in acknowledgement that I helped them out", but today just about did my head in with aholes. My dashcam would need a lot of bleeping out if I was to publish it.

You do need to look at the original of everything you can, especially church registers, as things written in the margin etc can be very revealing, and not usually picked up in transcriptions. Also adjacent entries. Who's doing what to whom in the area?

Also some commercial web sites are notorious for gross errors. One big one, with US based transcribers had much if Manchester in the UK assigned to New Hampshire ( I think) because, that's where Manchester is, isn't it?

All our lines fade out in the 1700's in the UK and the European records are assumed destroyed.
I find it enormously frustrating that each generation seems to destroy stuff that adds colour to the dry dust of an ancestor list.
So I can chase the stories , mostly in vain.

Which is why I tick " keep my census" every time. In this digital world, including photos, I'm thinking there will be less, not more information on us available for our descendants in 100 or so years time.

My byword: "hardcopy", preferably on acid free, archive quality paper.

Some countries are now restricting access to B, D and M records of the distant past, for 'privacy'. Stupid.

In a country that voted for a piece of cough because they were told hes a godly man, doing Gods work, Im guessing Jesse is getting delivery next week.
