That's ten containers a day!
Mum drinks only bottled water. Dad does too on occasion + bitter lemon. My brother drinks soft drink and mineral water and then there's my addiction.

Money goes towards my daughter's school fund.

No, I made it myself with a new coating recipe. It was really good and I use chicken breast, not chicken pieces as hubby doesnt eat with his hands.

I made enough for either dinner tonight or lunch for tomorrow but its all gone already, hes been sneaking all day.
I have been baking all weekend - 2 doz strawberry muffins, 2 doz fruit buns, 16 spinach and cheese scrolls and 16 apple and custard scrolls. Most of it is in the freezer, but samples left out for Mr FM. He likes a snack before he goes to bed, so he takes one out every day. He did suggest to me that they were so nice fresh, maybe I should bake every day instead :). That was not received well :)

The 10c refund per can/bottle that adds up to ~$70 in a coupe of months.
Cans of soft drink from Coles/Woolworths - specials in NSW are more than 10 cents higher than other states, apparently due to "additional admin costs".
And there are only 2 places to take the empties within 30 min drive from my inner Sydney home, one of which has a limit of 100 cans..

I wish supermarkets and liquor stores who sell the products would accept the empties.

We have a return and earn kiosk at our Woolies. It’s usually full, so often cannot accept anymore bottles. Some try to return bottles that don’t have the return and earn label so they just dump it there creating a mess. The cost to maintain it and fuel to and fro for everyone is not efficient in my view

Politician pet project - usually just causes prices to go up
The stupid thing is that some items are eligible for return and earn and other recyclables like wine bottles are not

Yes poor implementation to date. There's one in Clempton Park that has no limit as far as I am aware unless dad went to another one.

When I was a kid they had those Can recycling facilities where you were paid by weight. We used to put stones in the cans. Could not inflate the weights too much lest it became obvious

Hi guys.

I spent a bit of time on this forum some years ago when flying regular business flights, and I learnt valuable lessons. Back business flying and am now a proud Virgin WP. Will post more.

Welcome back. I know I've read your posts before because I remember your delightful avatar.

But hasn't the 10 cents already been invested as a deposit when the item was bought, or are they being collected from bins and the like, or am I missing something?

Hardly an investment, just imagine if our banks and building societies took our money then gave it back to us in a couple of weeks/months time without any interest payment! :)

Whoops, seems like they currently do!
