27 Pay Periods in 2012??
Those who have calculated a $25000 or $50,000 superannuation salary sacrifice might get it wrong by going over by a twenty sixth.
Do TAX OFFICE fines build a better Australia??

Some payroll systems track quarterly towards the SG annual maximums and spit out exception reports for those on track (or above track) towards exceeding the contribution caps.

I'm fortunate most of my clients are on monthly payroll periods.

Fortnightly pay sucks. We switched to it 18 months ago - essentially my average cash balance has now reduced by about 30% :(

What was your previous frequency? Monthly?

Having done both monthly and fortnightly pays, I'm happy with the latter. One does have a genuine argument in that the former forces better management of cash and cashflow, though.

Prefer fortnightly. At one stage msrdoc and I had opposite fortnights which was ideal.

Now mrsdoc is on monthly, so it's all over the shop.

My wife and I were alternating fortnights for years, it was perfect. Then I was switched to monthly about a year ago and it sucks big time.

I hate Monthly, unless its this time of the month where I have one good weekend!

I spent the first eight months of my now thirty years in the public service as a pay clerk and still find it useful to remember there are 313 fortnights in 12 years. (IE find fortnightly pay by multiplying annual salary by 12 and divide by 313).

Richard.

I remember one of the WO's at Robertson Barracks referring to some young punks (Privates) as '3 day millionaires'!

I didn't mind monthly pays.

As I actually saved more than being on weekly wages.

Now I own my business so I never have a pay day.

Yes and when you have your own business everyone tells you how lucky you are.
Just remember "the harder you work the luckier you can be".

Have just woken up and it smells heavily of smoke. Have checked, house not on fire. Neither are any neighbours!

Is there a brushfire or something?

Seems gone this morning.

The removalists are here to pack our stuff. What a nightmare.

PNG has modernised since the 60s. You have to check in pigs in the hold on PX, like dogs. Spears mostly replaced by firearms, which also have to be checked in as baggage:). Especially after the embarassing incident involving the Minister, the handgun, and the authorities at SIN:lol:

cheers skip

Hope you're not using a company with the initials AP. A friend recently got an ADF posting DRW/BNE & the move was a total disaster with stuff smashed left right and centre. Most of the damage was due to being incorrectly loaded or packed to begin with eg heavy items loaded on top of cardboard cartons, appliances that should have been kept upright turned on their side.

We are using Kent, this is our 4th move with them and (without jinxing myself) they've been universally excellent.

Let's hope this move owrks the same!

IMO more damage is done in moves when they have to unload and then reload the truck during the entire process.

Also boxes are misplaced as well.

They once left my Motorbike behind with the loading and unloading process.

I did say when they where getting stuff off the truck I said we are missing a motorbike and then they found it.

I had a friend ask if they are going to have to load and reload during the move.

And they said no so they booked them.
