Well just got off the phone with Diners.had preauthorised a payment for cruise in November but in the cosolidators name and a US dollar amount. They tried with the cruise line name and an $A amount so Diners declined it.So 30 minutes later,2 agents and 5 times on hold finally got(I hope) it sorted.
And then they asked why didn't i use my DC often!

I feel your pain...

Our corporate cards are Diners, which causes me plenty of headaches. Fortunately there is some scope in our policy to use a personal card and request reimbursement ;)

I really am tired of this global warming. The 5th day of sub 20C temps and another predicted for tomorrow.Today in our family room it was 11C-I want to go back to Tasmania-same temps but lovely sunshine!

You mean climate change. And what is being reported up there sounds like a change in the usual climate.

I'm just glad our dams are full. I recall reading some rubbish sprouting that this would never occur again;)

Yes Tim Flannery in 2007-said we were in for a prolonged drought and Sydney,Melbourne and Brisbane would be relying on the Desal plants for the foreseeable future. Not one of them operating now.
He also said it wouldn't be getting record cold spells.Oh Well. The science is proved as we are told.Have also been told that many times in Medicine and it has turned out to be wrong.

They should be operating for maintenance purposes, at least that is the south Oz situation. If the world's largest hole in the ground goes ahead we will have another desal plant and hopefully a large area of the state will be able to switch off the Murray. (well with any sense from government)

The biggest problem with desal is the water is way too soft.

I didn't know Australia had any politicians?

I thought that funny building in Canberra was the TV set for a giant reality show / soap opera

:p:p

At least with a **** reality show or soap opera on TV, you can turn it off!

We all actually have to put up with this <insert appropriate synonym here for excrement>.

I don't think Hilton on the park want me to leave the executive lounge.

Besides the lovely Shiraz I'm enjoying after a very long day (hic), every single song they've played is on my chill out playlist. Including:
- Pavarotti - Nessun Dorma
- William Orbit - Adagio for strings
- Eva Cassidy - fields of gold
- Dinah Washington - mad about the boy
- an orchestral version of "bittersweet symphony"
- and of course, one of my all time favourites - Nine Simone - Feeling Good.

If I wasn't in the exec lounge I'd probably be sitting in the relaxation suite I was upgraded to enjoying a wine and listening the same playlist!

Super feel good moment on QF 8 this morning upon landing in BNE. An announcement was made during descent that the Captain was retiring after this flight, entire cabin applauded him. We landed at 04.57 and the aircraft was sprayed by fire trucks on each side, brought a little tear to my jet-lagged eyes :)

Bizarre experience tonight boarding at gate 41B SYD T2. This means walking outside and using steps. With a massive slow moving line this allowed excessive time to read the rego painted on the aircraft. FA says the guy behind me "everything in order". He replied " I just like to get the rego".

So you know about the door plate, but not the big letters on the side. WTF!
