Indeed that is true, and some would say things have not changed much:

In 1531, Sir Thomas Elyot wrote that English "Footeballe is nothinge but beastlie furie and extreme violence".

Wrong type of football. The game know as Rugby union was only formalised in the mid 19th century. Anyway before then, while similar to union would fit under the general football umbrella, not rugby union.

having been trained by my father into shopping behaviour by men (just sit there and say nothing ) (mind you he's been dead 40 years ) I trained junior delinquent into the same behaviour

our favourite shopping experience was in New york 3 years ago when the jets were playing in the Super Bowl semi finals
We were in soho , and went into a dress shop (one of many!)with mrs c and senior and middle delinquent (all females)where we found a "man cave " at the front entrance
6 armchairs and a 50 inch tv and the jets on TV
delinquent and i started chatting to the guy who was sitting there and discovered that his wife had left him there 2 hours ago and she was coming back to find him later!

Junior delinquents assessment of a dress shop now relates to
a/ is there a chair
b/is it comfy
c/ is there a tv!

Signing off for a few weeks, looking forward to 3.5 weeks wandering around places in Europe I've never seen (Paris, Brussels, London, Rome, Berlin) and an event I've always wanted to go to, le Tour! (Oh and the German Grand Prix too ...I have good memories from being at Nurburgring 3 years ago!)

Haha, truth be known - it may have been the cause...

One hopes that QF has extensive compensation clauses in their agreement with Amadeus - since they rely on them for a huge range of functionality.

The Mayan calendar is pure myth. The Mayans never accounted for leap years, that means that the world should've ended almost 3 or 4 years earlier than 2012.

Of course it was the darned Carbon Tax-why else would we have so much trouble with air travel on 1/7-nearly 2 hours late SYD-BKK then an hour late BKK-AMM.
