For SWMBO, shopping appears to be a sport!

How many times have you seen a loyal bloke hanging around outside a store with a rather bored look while the shopping Olympics may be in full swing inside.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Or worse...hanging around the changing rooms to face the dreaded "does my bum look big in this?" question.

I kept mum company for many many years when I was young and later as an adult as she does not drive a car. I used to get the 1c, 2c and 5c pieces as reward. ;)

Or worse...hanging around the changing rooms to face the dreaded "does my bum look big in this?" question.
This one I am never afraid to answer as i am a big bloke myself.

"If you need to ask that question...."

How much better would $$$$$ sales be if they made a cosy men's corner with couch and tv on sport - blokes would not mind how much time their better halves spent. My son (30) quite enjoyed hanging round Victoria's Secret while his girlfriend tried on stuff! He didn't mind how long she took.....:p

If she shops there , no wonder he didn't mind. :-)

Some stores in LOFTAP have indeed done this.I always enjoy watching the reactions of all the other males sitting around waiting. Some priceless moments.

Spent time in the J lounge on Sat, but didn't fly anywhere.
Was running late on Sun, so didn't go to the J lounge - but instead visited PER (twice).
Today, I visited the SYD J lounge, plus the BNE J lounge.

Have been busy...
I am not even going to ask. Looking forward to the story over a couple of drinks....

Aaah yes.... ladies, how are we supposed to answer this question without facing dire consequences?

And don't say, "Just say, 'Darling, you always look beautiful,'" or something like that - you know that we know that you can see through this response...

And which young male, or not so young male, wouldn't want to hang around ladies' changing rooms to perv, .... err ...., catch a glimpse of a young female parading around trying on things. :p And I would not class that as shopping. Far from it. ;)

Just booked my first Doubletree Hilton stay. There for 5 nights, so hopefully I get a decent upgrade.

My options were the Ibis (5 mins from the office) vs Doubletree (15 mins from the office). Easy choice......... just means I have to get up a little earlier.

I can see that as an easy choice. Ibis is on my "No Stay" list.

I have just had a quite strange thing happen to me in the BNE J Lounge. Showed card at Front desk and handed card over at J Lounge desk. Card was scanned and the agent said "Do you know you are flying Virgin?", I said yes but that I had wanted to use this Lounge if that would be ok, had just landed from DFW. Was allowed in and then a few minutes later the agent came up to thank me for being so polite and offering my card as apparently they get all sorts of people waving cards in the air and not handing them over.

A little strange, although if the two flights are on the same itinerary, or an information sector has been added to your booking it should be visible.

And as for the "air wavers". I know who I am -and that I should be in the lounge. If they want to challenge that, it's simple. Make me hand over my card or BP...

"not to me honey, maybe to everyone else, but definitely not to me..."

The DJ flight is on my itinerary as that's the way it was booked by the corp TA. I was very surprised at being profusely thanked for something that I usually do anyway.
The J Lounge would be great if they could maybe turn down the air-con at the window seats, my fingers are turning blue

Ditto for me. Unfortunately my 2nd trip up to that office it wasn't viable to stay there, so Ibis it was...... the facilities there, or lack of, are meagre at best.

Given this trip is going to be for 5 nights, I'm glad to have the facilities of a gym and pool available for a little de-stress at the end of the day, as well as the comfort of knowing the room actually has aircon...

The local radio station is part of the "give me 5 for kids". They are having a fundraising auction on Wed morning that I thought might interest some members-this is from the station website
June 27 - On Air Auction #4 (Strawny's Brekky Show 5-9am) "Jet Fighter Flight" donated by Rod Hall and Kempsey Toyota. The Hot Shot Jet Mission is a 20 minute adventure flight in the L-39 Albatros. Your experience commences with a mission and safety brief before being fitted with a flight suit and jet helmet. Once securely strapped into your jet, we taxi out to line up for the ride of your life. You'll be accelerated to 400 Km/h by the end of the airstrip and climb out to 10,000 feet to commence one of life's great experiences. (Retail value $2500)

Just some follow-up for anyone interested-maybe bidding next year
Winning bid was $1,700 for what ended up being 30 minute Top Gun Mission with Rod Hall as pilot. The web site of jetfighter has the details of what is involved in the flight-thought the winner got good value
