Home made sponge cake?

Yup. I *think* it might be the first sponge I've made?? Not sure. Ane of course my photo showed off the worst parts of the cake - the slightly burned/alsmot burned bits.

Currently packing for our 10 day holiday and I was asked 8 pairs of shoes or 9? I thought 3 or 4.

edit: now revised to 10, but debating putting one pair back because they are identical.

3 or 4 is the minimum bearable/wearable for any travel. ;)

Hadn't noticed that - too distracted with the strawberries. :)

Sometimes things are not as they first appear....

All I can think of is that you're in Thailand... and there is lady boys there

On another note, both toes busted up at hockey on the weekend, might be out for a few weeks :(

So much for home town advantage in the AFL and NRL finals, Sydney beating Hawthorne 91-81 at the MCG on Saturday and today Melbourne Storm beating Canterbury 14-4 at ANZ Stadiu.

So 1 out of 2 for serfty :-|

Sleep in tomorrow for Queenslanders.

You must mean Melbourne, unless you have a patent dislike of the Storm.

Canterbury were looking really hopeless all game; it's amazing they even managed to put 4 points on the board, and keep the Storm to only 14 points (though Smith's kicking was pretty pathetic).

Overall it was like watching jelly being thrown against a brick wall. How the Dogs got minor premiers is beyond me.

So now this is the Storm's second premiership.

Yeah the storm have got a bit of catching up to do. Surprised no one has mentioned the bite.

Got to say a public holiday in the second half of the year that is not a Wednesday is very good, I say give Mayday the flick Mr Newman! Mind you I also say lets bring in daylight saving as the sun edges closer to a 4 AM rising in Brisbane, and I know the chances of that happening are about as good as pigs flying.

Not boasting (much) but we have two Mondays in a row off here in CBR. :)

And daylight savings starts next Saturday so the evenings will have more light and QLD will be an hour behind. Cue the flight problems and definitely avoid Johnk's flights.

Reward for my greed - aircraft swap to 734.

So you'll miss out on priority boarding in ADL - oh wait a sec, they don't do it anyway! :p

I hope that's 10 pairs for the famiy not just SWMBO?

I took 3 pairs in May to USA/Caribbean: One pair of Nike runners because you must have shoes you can do a lot of walking in. One pair of flip flops - comfortable ones bought from Foot Locker that were great for daytime to & from beach or hotel pool. One pair of Sandals with a medium heel for evening wear.

If all those shoes are for SWMBO I would be surprised if she wears half of them.

But she might need to umm and aah about which shoes to use. In that case - the more pairs available is better (unless you want to leave for somewhere quickly!)

30 medical admissions over the weekend and I am rung by the DMS asking if I realised the hospital had a bed block problem!
Yes and if i stopped getting phone calls about it I might actually be able to do my rounds and do something about it.
FACEMs please note i started my round in DEM to solve their problems first.

My usual answer is

"oh, I'll just discharge those patients I was keeping for fun then....".
