QF to PVG no op ups on the cards for the outward journey either! :(

Why couldn't you book this into J? Stingy customer? Market snarls and downturns?

As it stands, I don't think there's a better way to do China :) Not sure what Chinese domestic premium air travel is like, but I imagine it can't be much better than Y (i.e. the differential is smaller than that in Australia).

Going around by bus or by train would be even more..... ummm.........

Surely it couldn't be much worse then intra-EU Premium travel....

I thought about it but when I booked I believed the 90SC's would be important!
OK understand - SCs irrelevent to me - I have done MU J MEL-PVG ret 3 times now - will do another 2 times Mar and Apr 2013 - it aint SQ / CX but I can live with it. If you do do it most importantly BYO IFE.

Mainstream journalism is starting to reflect one of JohnK's worst nightmares. :)

This line was from an article talking about awkward social situations (and how to attempt to get out of them):

You’re around people going OTT on the PDA

Whilst most people might get the first abbreviation, most won't know what the second one is. No, it is not "personal digital assistant" (although if you deleted the second word, you might get closer to the intended meaning ;)).

I would in fact say more people would know the proper meaning for PDA, rather than the geek one!

Probably more young people, as since they grew up with the iPhone etc. they probably never knew a personal digital assistant in their life.

As for the rest of them, they'd probably know it as a PDA but not the words spelled out. Just like people use "laser" all the time and most don't know that it is actually an acronym. Ditto that in this country with "Qantas".

Actually my worst nightmares is standing on the tee for ages trying to hit the golf ball.

Not enough room for backswing, can't get the ball on tee, the club feels like a piece of rope etc. I think you get the idea of what is important in life. The rest is just to fill in the time....

Security breach at BNE domestic, entire terminal being evacuated apparently!

So did JohnK get away before this happened?
Managed to get out a couple of hours earlier. :)

Just as well as I am on a self imposed alcohol restriction* and this type of incident could have driven me to drink.

* Alcohol consumption is permitted during special events only such as Eric Clapton concert tomorrow, AFF Golf and BBQ day, airline delays etc

Strewth you may want to remove that last condition otherwise you may not see sobriety this side of the next five-ten years. :p

I am hoping the new look me, guaranteed pessimistic free 97% of the time, will mean no more delays.

And I am on a roll now with something like 9 flights in a row delay free.

Will we call you Mr97percent going forward??
I was called Mr42percent as I struggled to become sleep machine compliant in the first year of use.

Well I certainly haven't had an alcohol free week with family and friends visiting.A good excuse to raid the cellar. So this week i have consumed-
1976 H G Brown McLaren vale Shiraz
1998 Petaluma Coonawarra cab sav/merlot.
1993 Tahbilk cab sav.
1989 Eileen hardy shiraz
1997 Michelton shiraz.

And I rate them in that order. The Brown's wine was the 1970s version of a cleanskin-bought at the H G Brown shop in Chatswood.Cost $3 in 1978.An absolutely well balanced wine at it's peak and better than the 1976 Hill Of Graces that i have consumed.

Great... now is the time to find the clown who stuffed with the system.

Last time it was one of the airport cleaners who did some vacuuming.

The problem being that in order to plug in the hoover to the power point she needed to unplug something else which happened to being the metal detector intending passengers walk through.

Big step forward today. :D

Played golf and wore glasses on a lot of the shots proving to myself that it is possible and I need not be afraid. The mind does like to play tricks. At least I can now see the golf ball again as I am hitting it and through the air.
