"Why can't we fly Qantas business? I don't want to fly Jetstar business it's too much like premium economy!"

I'm steeling myself for a similar inappropriate comment from Little Miss 5 when we go to Hawaii in Y. We got good fares & flew to/from LHR last year in J; with SIN-LHR-SIN in the A380, and we scored J seats for Y+ the year before going to the US. So she's had quite a set of experiences with the Skybed, lucky little thing.
On the flight down to Sydney I'll have to remind her that the flight to HNL will be in the same kind of plane, same kind of seat.

Am pretty sure as long as she has juice, chupa chups, and her DVD player, she'll be fine. I was trying to explain the central TV idea to her, and she really couldn't understand why everyone wouldn't have their own IFE screens.

Sounds like you have a potential WP1 there Katie!;) (And I mean that in the very nicest possible way of course-not being unkind)

Cheers

Interesting, KRudd resigning!

And whats the breaking news re QF and Unions?

Same here. Was having timeout issues accessing FT Galleries. Back now.

Wish I wasn't awake so early! However after having finally found her sister's e-mail (who lives in NZ) and then e-mailing her and saw a reply when I did a quick e-mail check on my phone, decided was easier to get up and reply using my PC rather than tapping out a long e-mail on the phone.

So exhausted and really need to try get an early night tonight:!:

Skyview Lounge for Cathay in Singapore very average.

Not much better than a regional lounge

it's a lot better than the QP during rush hour.

Really??

I found the SIN J lounge to be huge, spacious, no problem with food or showers.

I could certainly see the F lounge being too crowded (and very ordinary for that matter), I preferred the J lounge.

I walked around the Skyview lounge, then walked out and back to the QF J lounge.

Anyone on QF8 ex-DFW tonight? Apparently you'll have a large pile of KRUDD loaded.

Was going to do that but F lounge was closing and didn't get to the gate F lounge doors until app 11.30pm and was told that they where closing very soon.

I will do the F lounge on the way home.

Rush hour being Friday and Sunday nights which is the normal time I am there, it was empty the one time I visited at 2AM.

I used this example of poor advertising strategies in a recent security talk:

This reminds me of a front page of the SMH after the Bali Bombings years ago.

The front page was a grid of photos of the people who were killed in the tragic events. The banner ad on the bottom of the page was for Mercedes and read "Drive the all new C class. You'll be blown away".

It was quickly pulled and only made the first daily revision, but it's shocking to think that the editor didn't catch that one.

Surprisingly easy to find too: http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~samkong/misc/funstuff/files/sydney_herald.pdf

That is an interesting way of putting it. I really like the Skyview lounge and think it is a little better than the Qantas Business lounge all things considered. Anyway horses for courses.
