I installed an app (widget actually) called Data On-Off. Free and works perfectly on Android. A simple push instead of having to navigate menus.
What menu navigation?

Hold down the "on" button on the side. When the shutdown appears, select "data network mode" - done!

This can be done from just about anywhere at any time.

Why is Singapore so dam expensive; looking for some accommodation and Hilton and ICs are expensive.

Might consider hotel 81 chain, less than $100 so pretty cheap. Johnk might have a suggestion,

Anyone seen the Virgin australia voyeur December magazine, there was a Virgin staffer from the Melbourne Virgin lounge on the photo captions page 226, I remember seeing him at one of our Virgin gatherings: LiamR is moving to Melbourne. I wasn't sure if was him but thought it was and then i saw one of the other Virgin lounge staff at Brisbane airport on Monday and confirmed it was him.

I've stayed at a couple of Hotel 81's. Usually tiny rooms but clean and generally accessible to the MRT.

No problems staying there previously and will stay there again.

Interesting - thanks for the tip, guys! As long as the bed's ok & the shower's ok, that's pretty much all I need.

I was suppose to do a SIN trip a few month's ago and Marina Bay Sands was pretty good pricing/cheaper than Hilton.

Hold black button with white square... "Siri turn off cellular data"

I have just spent 4-5 hours resurrecting my iTunes library after it became corrupted. My backup also had problems, so it became quite a tedious affair. Note to self: Backup the backup. Grrr.

I keep a separate copy of the iTunes folder on another drive as well.

I only lost a couple of albums, and I can identify them so it wasn't so bad in the end. The portable HDD my backup was on developed a couple of bad sectors - but at least I had that drive, otherwise I would have been rather upset.

Finally got my roster sorted after 30 minutes trying to get through to a roster clerk - my guy wasn't in.

The guy who I spoke to said that the way I wrote out my original leave form & the way he's read it, he thought I wanted accured public holidays for the first weekdays of January, work that weekend & then start long service leave. Um, no.

I'd forgotten that I'd applied for leave until the end of March so I'm going to bring my PER via MEL & OOL flexi forward from April to mid March & get a points upgrade to J MEL - PER - MEL. That way, I can take about a week in Perth rather than 2 days as I planned for April.

So does that mean the only shift you have to work before your holidays is NYE?

Apart from the performance of the application and pretty much the only reasonable method to communicate with connected iDevices, the iTunes library is the other thing which really, really annoys me about iTunes and made me want to get rid of the application quickly.

It's a bit difficult to backup, the plain-text XML is not the foolproof way of restoring it, and the non-plain-text version is impossible to decode.

In the end, I don't see why iTunes just doesn't give you the option of writing your user-entered library information as ID3 tags into the target files (as applicable, since some file types can't have tags or have different formats). This would make restoring information considerably easy (only losing some info such as last played time, number of times played, time added to library...) and increases the consistency and portability of the library files.

I have my iTunes library stored on an external drive, and the backup is a copy of the iTunes folder. I could identify the bad sectors by folder name, and so skipped them when I was copying it back. That gave me the albums that had become corrupted, and which I will replace at some stage.

(BTW, does anyone have a copy of ABBA - Greatest Hits, and AC/DC - Live Collector's Edition...)?

We might have the ABBA one.
