Was watching a lot of planes coming in low and hot to beat the BNE storms, but in the middle of the blackout (anat0l and I are in the same area), I saw a couple of light planes taking off and flying to the N-NW. Crazy IMHO, but I'm no pilot...

They may have been RFDS aircraft...but still scary stuff

You know that feeling you get when you see something for a split second & you think you know what you saw but aren't 100% sure? You wish you can rewind to make sure but can't?

Whatever the blonde woman was doing with her pants around her ankles at the station at 0030 - she was anything but discreet....

A potential Tiger/JetStar pax? Perhaps it was better off unseen?

It continues....

The roster clerk tells me I’m off until 29th March so I change some travel plans. I get here & check the paperwork & I’m back on the 9th March. Big difference!

So I'll leave a note for my shift manager (he is on leave now & when he gets back, I will be) & an application for leave for my March trip to Perth. I'm not changing again...

Just getting ready to finish work for the last time this year (I'm taking tomorrow off).

It's been a pretty HUGE year for me.

There has been lots of work, lots of flying, lots of drinks, lots of health problems, but there have been some pretty awesome things too - I had some amazing trips, spent time with friends all over the world, have eaten and drunk some excellent food & wine, and have really enjoyed some great times over the course of the year.

Thanks to those I know personally for your friendship over the year, especially tuapekastar who is a legend, and has helped me out a few times this year.

There were a few moments where I didn't think I would make it through the year, but here I am - still alive and kicking with one day to go.

I hope you all have a great evening tomorrow, and look forward to catching up in 2014!

Never good to see and knowing there are several F1 fans here I imagine some sadness.

I just saw this also - hope he is okay, but it sounds pretty serious :(:(:(

I saw some file footage of him skiing on the Channel 10 news. He's clearly not a skiing rookie.

The way that it was reported was that he was in a coma in the chopper. He does have the advantage of being fit & money obviously won't be a problem.

But the human body & the medical profession can do some wonderful things.

I'm hoping that the media is overstating the issue of Schumacher being in a coma. Isn't that normal medical procedure after neurosurgery?

As I read it he was in coma before arriving at the medical facility.

A friend of mine was in a coma after some life saving neurosurgery, took him about 3 weeks to wake up but he's now doing OK, bar a few small issues as a result of the head injury.

Yes, my son too just mentioned the coma wasn't induced. Obviously some pressure/bleeding around the brain. Hoping he recovers well.

Reminded me of Natasha Richardson, Liam Neeson's wife, who died after a skiing accident (http://edition.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/03/18/obit.richardson/)

The brain is pretty fragile considering the potentially blunt force resulting from a nasty fall - skiing or not.

Having neurosurgery meant they need to evacuate an extradural blood clot (hematoma) to relieve the compression on the brain.

Concussion could lead to unconsciousness (coma) but in that event, neurosurgery is not necessary as there is no compression pressure.

I hope he will come out a champion - again.

Can't say that I know where that is. The gauge is a little narrow for me...

Blaxland riverside park, Silverwater, NSW. Nice park near Olympic park along the Parramatta river. I think they occasionally run tours that use those lines.

Must have been a big hit as he did have head protection on or so it was reported in the media that I saw.

A helmet or other protection can only do so much. Better to be protected than not, of course!
