I'm of the belief that by actually enhancing (in the true sense of the word) PS and SG, they are in effect de-valuing WP.

Agreed 100%.

WP benefits haven't really changed, but SG is rapidly catching up and for a traveller like myself who is majority domestic (~4 international trips a year) and where the minimum points guarantee applies on almost all flights the only practical difference is the J lounge.

There's a few things that AA do for their top tier members (eg: upgrades, free F&B in the Y cabin, etc) that'd be nice to have here (beverage for those flights on weekends/etc) - but I'm not going to hold my breath

SP - Smug Platinum. (we already have the S for (Scum as in Scum Gold)

Your memory is good for someone who wasn't there, 8 years ago time flies :shock:, I think a few of the terms were used before the initial first AGM but they were passed into law, Folk law

I think the upcoming Ozfest will be quite a bit of discussion about the new changes.

I think Platinum should be PO, because that's what's going to happen to members who don't make 3,600 SCs when the new level is introduced.

I fear it will be. 3600SC's is not doable for me.

Maybe time to consider AA (All my non-CC and non QF earning flights already get channeled into AA, so perhaps it's time to move my QF earn to them too; shame no AU CC's apart from Diners allow value/easy xfer to AA).

• Lessor/loser Platinum
• Barely Plat
• minor plat
• SG+
• Pseudo Gold
• Crying Plat

PO for course is good as well

I am pleased that the WP group is complaining.

The frequent flyer system is an insult and in flight products and customer service to match, and now their public insult to (soon to be ex) top tier status members.

Let's face it, we can all spend far less points on award flights (that are actually available on most flights) through any other airline frequent flyer system and also be rewarded with complimentary upgrades. This is the norm, why not Qantas.

Not far from LTG, but really I drink French champagne all the time, so the half hour in the F lounge is not worth the insult and I can spend more time in quality cabins with quality service!

It's worth reminding yourself what other options are out there. Certainly for travellers who travel internationally in the majority.

I love Barely Plat and Pseudo Gold but PG might be confused with Partner Gold.

Currently 2,580 SC's, with 1,080 booked in the next 4 weeks. I will post anything we get from QF here on the forum.

I think P1 is a good thing. WP has become so easy to get through SR's in USA etc, that pretty much anyone can get it.

I guess time will tell.

Alright i can understand it's yout money or companies money or whatever. But it is also QANTAS' program, and it's their business. They can introduce or take away what they like. QF don't have to offer a free program to reward frequent flyers, yet they do. Don't fly with QF if you don't like what they are doing. Fly TT or DJ!
But then DJ's FF program is only based on how much you spend and has far less to offer than QFF.
