The Velocity Status Run Master thread

Oops! Of course.. not specifically that fare, but the similar one currently in the spreadsheet? Is there a trick to it, or just trial and error?

If your talking about A47 then just play around with the dates, there are some seat availability in june both ways, also try browsing across different browsers too!

Keep in mind, once booked the fare dosen't allow for it to be changed online, so if you wanted to extend your holiday then you would have to contact the call center. :)

Pretty gutted that I'd found some E1s for $2300-2700 depending on the cities but now it seems to have gone up to $3500ish :/

I have tried to book a points plus pay fare, but it won't let me get past the flight selection stage as I don't have enough points. Even though I intend to change the selector to get the points to fewer than I have so I can book the fare. Any advice, apart from getting more VA points?

I have tried that before as well... the only way around it is to get a relative to transfer some points and somehow pay them back later... third cousin, twice removed should do the trick.:)

I'm not sure how to phrase this question without giving too much information away

I couldn't find any A35 or A36 flights so I'm looking to book an A32 and an A31
the routing is
1.A to C via B (A32)
2.C to A via B (A31)

However I live in B

does anyone know if it's possible to change the routing so instead of flying
A-B-C-B-A
that I could fly
B-C-B-A-B

I ask because they are in J and T&C's seem to sound like changes/cancellations can be made without any additional fee

Which brings me to a second question, what would happen if I was a no show to the original A-B & B-A flights.
Could I complete the itinerary and call to reschedule a B-A-B return trip within 24hrs?

Can you follow my cryptic questions?

Question.

Say one wants to do a day trip to an international destination (A to B then back to A... A-B-A), where the time spend at that international destination is 55 minutes (Checkin closes 60minutes before hand) could one be checked in at the origin for the entire trip, if it's the same day? Thus not needing to meet the checkin deadline and allowing for minimum time spend on the ground.

Secondly, if something does go wrong, would Virgin rebook a disrupted passenger onto AirNZ?

This is assuming of course everything goes to plan.

I don't know if they would change the routing however if you no-show and don't contact them within 24 hours of the original departure time of A-B, Sabre will auto cancel the whole PNR. Not sure how it behaves if you no-show mid journey.

I would suggest it can't be done as you aren't simply changing flights, you are rerouting.

Yes, it is possible, depending on who the two carriers are and what the minimum connection time is in the booking engine. It will either not let you book the two legs or it will auto cancel if it detects a booking that has breached minimum connection times and you will likely get a call from the airline. If you book the two legs on separate booking then no, they cant check you in on the outbound leg. Domestic same-day is different.

you have a very good question, It sounds tempting as it is, it sounds like your off to A47? :) not too sure but don't you have to present yourself at check in for INT flights?

I assume I'm looking at what you're looking at. Given that you can book B31/30 rtn on the site as a regular fare without hassle I guess they're ok with the checkin times? Assuming it all goes to plan.

Anyone actually booked this, and if so, GCC hasn't called?

Knowing what LiamR is talking about, yes. I've booked it. and it ticketed instantly :)

No mention of MCT or similar, and for reasons I mentioned offline to LiamR last night, I can't see why it would be a problem with the connection.

Half way through booking a friend on this flight during lunch (At the credit card page, actually) and the flight disappeared. *Sigh*

I've got no idea about this mythical spreadsheet, but if someone could add me, that'd be great. (:

Went to book a 2nd trip, and missed out.

It might come back. People have mentioned it had disappeared before.

Re: the spreadsheet, PM lobo. (Go through this thread to find him.)

I booked it twice and got ticketed instantly too, just under a month to go, 420 SC is not bad.

500 including connections if you use a Flexi positioning flight.

i booked the positioning flights a couple of days ago when VA had the sale on, 40 SC is more than enough this time. I'll go flexi when I hit WP after this trip. :)

Can I ask what dates you are finding this price -or length of stay ?

I can only see $188.

Orbitz have a discount code for 20% off all hotels, no block out dates. Book by 5th march for travel before June. SPRING20. Lowest room rate at our special place comes down to the cheapest room for $137 US ;)

I remember a day Liam, when you had your finger on the pulse of every VA post, issue, bargain, update or special.

Have you been hiding under a rock recently? I told you moving to Melbourne was a bad idea ;)
