Hoping for some help here.
I didn't think I was going to requalify for gold, but with the SC earning on reward flights, I am now 'only' 160 SCs away from requalifying. I have only one flight booked from now until my current status runs out in late July. That flight is MEL-ADL-MEL in Y, which will give me 20 SCs.
So I need 140 SCs to get there. Anyone know of the most cost effective and convenient way of getting there?
I have about 27,000 Velocity points and about 3000 Amex points that I can transfer and am happy to use them given that award flights earn SCs until 30 June.

A65+66 would get you there on a very low Points per SC yield, but would require positioning flights. They're probably your best option.

A61 would be an interesting trip, but would require paying for a return flight. The return flight would well and truly push you over the 140 SC you need.

A52 + B28 is good value for money. There used to be an A52 that routed via ADL. Not sure where that went though.

B28 and B29 are excellent value for money by themselves. If you could combine one with a B47, you'd be there. Otherwise, you'll come up a little short.

(I've assumed where you're based... I hope I'm right.)

If you refer to the spreadsheet... and youve got 42k points to burn I'd suggest A7 return in J to net 200 SCs and is doable in 1 day....

Hi All,

It's been awhile since I checked for flight redemptions using the new sabre website, and it seems that the points requirements for flights to Perth from BNE (via SYD) and SYD (via MEL) has gone up significantly to at least 40k+++.

I remember that they all used to be the same as the BNE-PER direct.

What's going on with the points inflation? They seem to be enhancing by Stealth?
