The Velocity Status Run Master thread

I am just booking for 3 to Perth OOL-MEL-PER. Two Flexi's with upgrade to J and one J reward. The Flexi's combined are $388 with 241 plus upgrade to J 55400 points combined and the J Reward is 51600 plus $30. SC's 80 for Flexi's combined and 80 for J. Each way. So all up return in J looking at $776 plus 214000 points netting 320 SC's. I am not going to PER for SC's I do have to do this trip and from OOL I do need to go via MEL or SYD, but is that really about the best possible. Obviously want to minimize cost and maximize SC's. In regard to the SC's they are calculated on OOL to PER because the Platinum call centre said the multi-sector rule wouldn't apply ? I don't understand why.

Found a few nice 27,600pt + loose change status runs in J that earn 200 SC

Happy to add them to the spreadsheet ...if I'm let in :)

On a somewhat related note... does anyone know the policy with cancelling/changing reward bookings?

I have a booking in the sytem for myself and the lady, however it looks like she will not be able to make it. Can I just cancel her seat/booking? A shame as this means I will have to do 2 flights that originate elsewhere and end up at home. :)

Any domestic business reward booking made since the SABRE implementation has a $35 change fee and a $50 cancellation fee.

Thanks for that and International?

I guess this link: Domestic & International Short Haul Reward Seats| Velocity Frequent Flyer

Is just a little out of date then.. :)_
Of course in legal terms the more benificial clause may apply to to consumer.

However, when booking online you do need to check a box to "... confirm you understand and accept the Terms and Conditions of Carriage, Fare Rules , Privacy Policy and are not required to book through the Guest Contact Centre for Special Assistance.".

If you get the inbox full message, don't forget to delete some 'sent' PMs as they count as well.

Yes - I had someone PM me to ask about a particular fare (they couldn't contact lobo because his PM box was full). Tried replying, and their inbox is full too!

I'm surprised no one has commented on this bit!

Is the booking post June? Perhaps the reward seat no longer earns SCs and is confusing things?

From my understanding you should get

2 x flexi zone 2 @ 30 = 60
2 x flexi zone 3 @ 40 = 80
1 x J zone 2 @ 60 = 60
1 x J zone 3 @ 80 = 80

Total - 280 each way if flying before June 30 (I think that was the promo date expiry).

I have no idea why VA would say OOL-PER x MEL would not earn by sector. Their own map show a very similar route HBA-PER x MEL as earning two sectors. Their explanatory text agrees
From 13 January 2013, members will earn Status Credits and Eligible Sectors based on the mileage for
each flight sector they travel.

So what's the deal? Inexperienced phone support? There are no direct OOL-PER flights, so a connection is the only way with VA to fly OOL-PER and all their information (AFAIK) indicates SCs and eligible sectors will accrue by sectors.
