The Velocity Status Run Master thread

1) QF does have it's own tab. Do you mean a separate sheet or just have this as VA? I'm keen to have just as VA to be honest.

Sorry - I meant delete QF off this one and they can start their own if they want. Im keen to have it just VA too.

This should help further clarify as well;

An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment, whereas an itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, will be considered two flight segments.

Clarify? Are you sure?

Can I ask then, does that bear any relevance to the VA press release which refers to flight sectors? I'm sure I've read someone in the know state that sectors and segments are two different beasts (but I don't know what the difference is).

Also, in relation to Jamas flights, I can't see OOL-MEL having the same flight number as MEL-PER although I haven't looked this up personally.

Yes my thanks too. This is looking excellent!

Just a couple of suggestions:
- Can we list the Runs in value order (i.e. starting with lowest number of points/$ per SC?) The more deals we get onto here the more complicated the list will get and from my experience, where people are looking to do SRs they first look for the best value, then for the starting point, length etc.
- Can QF have their own spreadsheet? There cant be that many people on this site passionate about SRs for both programs? Usually people just concentrate on 1.
- Perhaps where someone comes across a mistake fare etc they could simply post 'check the spreadsheet!!' in this thread and that would alert people that something juicy might have come up.
- Is there a criteria for joining the group? 100 days + 100 posts membership minimum?

- Yea I sort them every once in a while by yield but I don't think you can maintain sort order in a Google doc (not 100% sure, I'll try and figure it out for sure). Anyone can sort it when they are in there...
- I have no interest currently in QF runs, but I thought it's easier to have 1 doc than 2. I'm easy either way.
- Good idea! I might have one coming up shortly from a TA friend of mine ;)
- Yea tough one. I have no way to determine if someone is a Virgin spy, if anyone wants to send me a list...? :P

hi - tried to send a message twice to lobo - but not having much luck - when i hit submit nothing seems to happen - is there a trick to it?? lol

Just added a 'Posted By' column, if you do add something just pop you AFF name in there so then we can see who has put what up.

Hey, as a newbie; am having issues PM you to request access.... Would really love access to the information. I have sent a request from the Google Docs site :) Cheers

No problems, having read other posts I wondered if this might be the case.... Will just have to keep posting and hope I get access :) Do virgin employees get gold cards? Happy to scan it if it helps :) Was actually preparing a spreadsheet today to compare best SC returns per reward points to try and take advantage of the offer and use my points, which I don't often do, due to trying to maintain staus credits. Thankyou for the advice.

Brisbane hey? lol, shows my lack of knowledge :) but I guess they would say that too! lol. Anyway, wish I was then I wouldn't have to try maintain spreadsheets and would have insider info. But I totally understand the sceptism; wouldn't want 'hot deals' ending up in the wrong hands. Cheers

Congratulations! I think you're the first of the "too hard baskets"! ;)

It may be a bit like "Life of Brian"....
"How much do you hate the Romans?"
"I hate them.....a lot!"
"Oh, OK you're in."

PS.............welcome!

Not sure if this makes sense but its kind of entertaining reading, especially the part about legments...

A flight is defined as the sequence of legs (origin/destinations) taken by a particular aircraft under
a specific flight number on a particular date. The flight has an origin which is the airport of the first
takeoff, as well as a destination which is the airport of the final destination. Between origin and
destination there may be intermediate landings in which case we have more than one leg.
A flight leg is the operation between an origin and the next arrival station. A leg has one or more
leg cabins, e.g. first class, business class and economy class. The leg cabin is a physical entity
that has physical capacity (number of seats in cabin) and number of bookings so far that use the
leg.
A flight segment is a portion of the flight journey between boarding and disembarkation points that
may be comprised of one or more legs. A segment may be reserved by a passenger in a booking,
i.e. the PNR is a reservation for a segment, not a leg. Segments have one or more segment
cabins which correspond to the leg cabin at the leg level (aka service class). Segment cabin is a
commercial/logical entity and has logical capacity and booking counts. A leg cabin can have
many segment cabins and the bookings are divided between the different segment cabins.
The many-to-many relationship between legs and segments is captured in the legment entity. As
an example of this relationship, consider a flight that has origin at HKG, final destination at SIN
and intermediate landing at BKK. Here we have 2 legs, HKG-BKK and BKK-SIN, and 3
segments, HKG-BKK, BKK-SIN and HKG-SIN. The leg HKG-BKK is used by 2 segments, HKGBKK and HKG-SIN. The segment HKG-SIN uses 2 legs, HKG-BKK and BKK-SIN.
This model allows for complex flight complexing (within a single flight), i.e. many commercial
segment marketed by many marketing carriers can use any legs in the flight.
The segment link entity links the booked name segments to the segment cabin. This can be used
to get all bookings for a segment cabin, and in the other direction to get inventory data for a
particular booked name segment.

It clarified it for me.

What press release are you referring too?
