The Velocity Status Run Master thread

Actually Brent looks to have made most of the changes (added runs, made new columns/formulae) so kudos to him!

Aw, shucks. :)

JessicaTam has kicked off the QF JASA sheet. And danoleary55 has added a heap of really great routes!

...But there's still room for more if anyone else wants to add them ;)

Just finished making some updates... Almost doubled the number of routes in the spreadsheet + cleaned up a whole heap of data.

I've also added filterable columns - so hopefully people will be able to sort by points required, SC earn, departure point or destination more easily... plus a couple more reasonably insignificant changes. (Feel free to edit, delete, rework or build on anything here.)

Thanks again for putting this together, lobo76!

Given my predilection to JASA's and the fact that I am replete with VA points, I think I should request clearance for the Google doc :D. I wonder if they'll let me in ;)

However as my Spreadsheeting skills are firmly as the Basic level, I hope I can find things.

Many thanks to the contributors and I hope to be able to contribute any I find..

It clarified it for me. What press release are you referring too?

I refer to the one I linked to in the post you responded to :D.

Press release is not the correct term (I think we learnt about it from AusBt site IIRC) but the document states it is a Sales Trade Release on the VA site.

The confusing part for me (yes, I'm still confused) is that the link you provided to the Velocity site refers to flight segments
Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment, whereas an itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, will be considered two flight segments.

whereas the VA Sales Trade Release refers to flight sectors
From 13 January 2013, members will earn Status Credits and Eligible Sectors based on the mileage for
each flight sector they travel.

Ordinarily, I'd consign that to the irrelevant semantics portion of my brain, except for the fact that Jama has been advised by VR that their OOL-PER x MEL flights will only accrue as per a direct flight. Given many of us are currently booking flights with different segments, it raises what I consider to be an important question. I've said I doubt that Jamas segments have the same flight numbers so why accrue as a single segment?

Is there a difference between segment and sector?

Pants decription adds a further, but possibly irrelivant complexity of a legment so I guess danoleary 55, I can only say I'm not trying to be a smart alec with my reply to your post, just that I don't see the clarification that you claim. I see two different terms being used by VA and VR bolstered by some odd earning advice from VR to Jama.

Wow, awesome work! It's looking amazing :D

Yes definitely different flight numbers, but there is also the point you can't get from OOL to PER. I would ask the question though in regard to all the flights going into the spread sheet. Are the SC earns correct, or assumed ?

SC earns do you mean?

That is what I'm wondering. For the record, I'm tending to believe you were given dodgy advice from a staff member not up to date with the recent changes.

Has anyone taken an indirect route for SCs yet and had them posted? If not I have a flight Sunday so I guess I'll be a guinea pig but if we know for sure that we don't get SCs per 'sector/segment' then I'll probably try and change it back to a direct route...

I think one of runs has disappeared. It's the lower earning SC run (J) out of MEL. I'm plugging in random dates (pre June 30) and it comes up "Sold Out". Can anyone else confirm?

I also can not find j class on many routes which were avail yesterday on variety of dates. Surely they haven't all gone overnight. See what happens over weekend I guess

Im glad I booked my J reward run 3 days ago then!!

I've checked a few and it looks like the last week of Feb is where they finish.

oh no, looks like some of the cheapest ones are GONE. There's a mole amongst the ranks!!!!

tbh, I wouldnt be surprised if the revenue gods at Bowen Hills appointed a specialist to browse AFF all day to get ideas on enhancements.

I can still find avail in Feb for one of the better ones, so I don't think that's it.... over 50 people have asked for access to the shoeet and I reckon there's only 1-2 J reward seats per flight so I think perhaps some have sold out naturally?

Lobo76 may well be right, the flights I've been stalking are mostly still there, but one flight ex MEL has sold out. Too successful!

I see Business Rewards available up until Tuesday 26th March, at least for some of the routes I had my eye on. Not very many, but at least some tickets are in the "lowest price" bucket. Everything after that date seems sold out however.

(These are my own observations. I don't have access to the spreadsheet, as I can't send private messages until my 15th post. Hang on, this is my 15th post. Maybe I should ask…)
