Can you give us a brief rundown on how it went including seat allocations and Lounge access?

Quite a few people having issues with entry to the Koru lounge in NZ. I'll do the access requests as soon as I can, internet is $20 for 90MB here! :/

Needed a last minute trip MEL-BNE last week, but fares were around $400. Couldn't stomach that and still only earn 15 SC. Instead took the MEL-SYD-OOL flight for $215, and now see 40SC's in the bank. Train from OOL to Brisbane CBD is about $13 and takes around a hour.

Turns a 2hr flight into a 6 hour Treck, but at $5.3 / SC is one of the better ones out of MEL that I can see at the moment.

You don't get lounge access in AKL when travelling TO RAR( or any other island ) .

That depends on your luck, even though it says there is no lounge access, they are very lenient and haven't been enforcing that rule. If the BP scans green then your good to go!

Is it only the Pacific island flights that don't allow you lounge access because last year we went to PEK via AKL and we had no issues getting into the NZ lounge... (however we were on a ANZ ticket (and metal) in Y+ so maybe that was the difference.

Even though the rules state no access for pacific island travels, the lounge has not been enforcing the rule. Not once has the lounge angel checked our BP's, WE just walked up to the scanner and scanned the BP's ourselves. It could be their system not picking up on the destination flight, the time in the lounge does keep you sane and feeling human, especially on the flight to RAR.

I understand that's the experience but you need to be clear. There is a difference between *should* get access and *should not officially but can in practice*. Without that context it is easy to lead people astray.

I think the $12 price is for Gold Coast to Brisbane City.

mavrick specifically indicated OOl-Brisbane CBD.

Currently you catch a bus from OOL to "Varsity Lakes" and a train from the to the City.

Tuhin and Fraser got into the lounge at AKL for the trip to RAR.
Brent got it but the lounge dragon questioned Brent's SWMBO and denied entry for herself.
Brent had to buy 2 passes for himself and SWMBO.
