The view from my "office"

The bailey bridge replacing the destroyed one was at a very popular waterfall sport on the Una river, most vehicles including a bus carried Serb plates. This was where I thought I could cross the border.

Now at Silo on Krk island looking across to the mainland, our last night in Croatia.
The boss says I’m being to critical, but I doubt I will come back to Croatia, for me Sardinia, especially Alghero has more to offer, but as usual, ymmv.
Dubrovnik is nice, but given the number of tourists now, I would hate to be there in high season. Some photos are out of order. :(

Even on shoulder season I found DBV cringeworthy. 1 day at most, then move on somewhere else. Shame as it was a lovely looking place otherwise, but...... GoT..........

My office tonight, taking a break from working in my room to visit the bar on Level 18 of DoubleTree Perth Waterfront.

Truly is a 360 degree view both from inside and the outside deck. Took a brisk walk outside around the whole deck to confirm.

Definitely coming back here on my subsequent visits - good for mattress run and a change of scenery (from Parmelia Hilton)

How was your usual haunt for lunch? :)

Tonight’s office is changing rapidly courtesy LX.

The first part of BLQ-ZRH proceeded as expected. First time on an A220: nice new aircraft; quiet in row 4.
However ZRH-NCE has been a bit of musical planes.
Delay 40 minutes.
Delay another 30 minutes.
Board our E190-E2 and settle into my exit row seat.
Taxi, then instead of lining up, we commence a roll (taxi speed) down the runway and take the first exit.
Proceed to a stand off gate whilst maintenance does some trouble shooting.
Deplane.
So, now back in the Swiss SEN lounge ZRH. At least it’s a nice lounge.

Let’s see if we get away tonight.

Update:
We’re on a new jet at 2000h. Swiss efficiency.
They’ve clearly just rolled this one out of the hanger as it has that classic aircraft POL smell.
Damn, it’s an E190-E1 and my exit row seat is now a rather tight standard whY seat two rows behind the exit row.

Take 2

Somewhat depressing (subjectively, of course) view today, IFE-wise …. Onboard QF67 A330 so was expecting the much larger IFE screen … but got the old ones …

Edit 1: And the hand rest with the controls is making it hard to place my arm … FWP !!

Edit 2 : And the slot where headphones go ain’t working well …

Edit 3 : And we are delayed …

Edit 4 : to quote Frank Costanza “Serenity, now!”

We went from a warm sunny Croatia to a dull, wet, cold Franfurt!

Actually it was the other way, 9 degrees on the coast to a very pleasant 17 at 8:20 pm
in Gernsheim on the Rhine, south of Frankfurt.
Some may recognise this private landing spot.
