The view from my "office"

thought the green things were beans………. NOT!
No!!! They certainly are not … a variety of green chilli found in south India and Middle East .. interestingly, this is not *that* spicy … usually served with day old rice soaked in buttermilk (or yogurt mixed with lots of water) and raw pearl onions as brekkie. Very nutritious and filling. The chilli adds the much needed kick to the otherwise bland rice and buttermilk and the pearl onion gives a subtle sweetness to counteract the chilli

Was it served as part of Mezze plate?

No it was self serve with other vegies each in their own bowl. I didn’t even notice a label, although there probably was one.
After not seeing fresh beans or peas for a while, I just grabbed some. At first bite it wasn’t too hot, I actually thought that it was a bean that had had been marinated. It was only when I put the whole thing in my mouth did I realise my mistake. :)

I’m sure to be through that lounge again, so I will check. Oman Air have a great product and a very good price. Even more so when they join OneWorld next year, e.g., I received this today:

Although the 330 from Frankfurt to Muscat was an older version.

First class seemed more like J on their newer planes.

And the saddest sight in the world, the main bar (and all bars) closed, because, we hadnt left Jeddah yet. 😤. We requested the song "Pub with no beer", but only the Aussies laughed.

at the risk of starting something contentious ...
from when I was younger I understood "lucked in" was good, and "lucked out" meant you tried but didn't succeed.
Now it seems the latter is good and the former is never to be heard.
Am I alone here ?
