The view from my "office"

Today we were on Kodiak Island. It was the most lovely, sunny day. I was on the “self guided wilderness tour” at Fort Abercrombie. Several of us enjoyed a lovely walk around Lake Gertrude through temperate rainforest. The air was just so fresh! Well, it would be with all that moss around to attest to it!

The weather wasn't great today, so our tuk tuk driver/guide suggested we defer our day trip plans to tomorrow, so we spent the day just wandering around Kampot and relaxing. Lunch was fantastic, I had the Kampot Benni (local take on eggs benedict with waffles, kampot peppered bacon etc.) and Mrs FB the huge stack of fluffy pancakes with bananas and salted caramel sauce. Yum. Best meal I've had so far this year? $5 each, too.

Lots of French colonial architecture around town, some of which is still being restored.

The Al Mourjan Business Lounge The Garden office for a few hours yesterday in DOH.

I quite liked this lounge compared to the original Al Mourjan Business Lounge. It's very open and airy feeling. Seemed less busy too, but perhaps that's just because there are two lounges catering for the same cohort.

Unclear what will be offered at the spa but the inclusion of a gym is fantastic! Great idea for a layover. Neither are completed yet though. The shower suites are a little pokey and no toilet, which I think is a fail. There are a heap of single and couple quiet rooms that you can use for up to six hours.

Internet, like the other lounges, is just the airport wifi. I found it to be rather slow at times.

The Internet was unusable like always. I think less people go there as they think it's too far out of the way, however we didn't think it was so went there and as you said, lovely and quiet.

I landed up there as it was closest to my arrival gate. As you point out, it's not far, especially with the train.

I wonder who their best customers are?

The Mob?

Next office looks familiar

Will have similar next Tuesday :) . Posting to the QR business meals thread?

Will try it out ...

Erm, I think we are on QR on Tuesday too. Might see you in DOH?

Oh lovely, BKK-DOH has now been upgraded from an A380 to 777, so we're in Q suites now. On the flipside, BA has subbed out the Club Suites config plane to old ying yang, grr!

We arrive at DOH 23:55 on Tuesday, with a departure on BA to LGW at 01:05 on Wednesday......

I arrive 22:50 ex MEL and depart 8:50am Wed for IST. It was originally a 3 hr connection . So I'm at the Oryx, at vast expense.

Will keep an eye out for arrival times, but I think you'll be enjoying the lounge without me (Sorry)

I'd say we will have 5 minutes at best if that! Likely we will actually have to go through transit security arriving from BKK (didn’t have to coming from LHR). If you're delayed coming in we'll try connect up, otherwise so close yet so far ;)
