Happily for us the Plaza Premium lounge in Frankfurt Airport is 'temporarily closed ' so Vietnam Airlines is using the JAL. Lounge. So far pretty quiet and nicely set up. And more Christmas wishes to everyone

The experience at Frankfurt Airport has been good so far. Check-in was open 3 1/2 hours before the flight and Exit formalities were far, far quicker than Munich Airport last year. The only test to come is Security as they operate a Gate Security system. Everyone we have dealt with so far has been extremely helpful.

Ah, we nearly bought one of those in Freiburg a few weeks back. Did you get the one that spins around and plays some music?

Happy Christmas to all from Slovenia, our annual Christmas day walk was a bit tricky as there was inches of ice everywhere and it was very slippy! Worth it for the views, though.




That's the last of the Christmas markets for us this year, I think I clocked in at around 16 or so. That should last me for a few years......

Just a basic one and like all things should have bought the musical one. Thankfully I bought it at Colmar as that was the last decent market we’d get to. Never saw them again.

I just cannot get over the number of HUGE icebergs we are seeing! Afternoon zodiac cruising has been cancelled due to high winds. The snow is coming sideways from behind the ship! The poor late morning zodiacs had to go back to shore while the ship manoeuvred. Quite the drama and logistics when the weather changed so suddenly. But wonderful all the same.
