I remember you warning about the upstairs entry to the CP being closed for renos, and was well prepared when we arrived late Nov 23. The was building works aplenty going on. Then we arrived back 6 weeks later and it was all over bar the shouting. The do know how to get things done in Singapore.

Root stock can look fine and they are actually stronger than the grafted stock, that's why they are used and also why they take over if you've pruned hard and below the graft node, but their flowers look different to what you purchased, eg colour.
 
Tour down under gala on Saturday night where they blocked off King William Road and then the start of the final race on Sunday morning

We wandered up and down a bit - it always amazes me how many support vehicles there are. It was chaos near the start line so wandered back a bit and was watching one guy who was happy to chat to people and get his photo taken and then he won the race

Great photos. Been watching on TV but the coverage does not convey what your photos do.
Did you just attend for the spectacle, or did you have a horse in the race. ;)

Yes sure. This is the first time I have pruned the roses since I planted them in April last year. I know 2 plants took off growing everywhere. Now there's about 5-6 plants with heavy growth. We tied them up tight with brother in law. Hope i have not choked them too much.

my no.1 fav city 🤤 is it still as fab? My last visit had lots of Eastern European kids pickpockets and migrants congregating at subways etc just outside the ringstrasse. Had to be super careful.

Have you been to Demels yet? IMO best cake shop in town before 😁. Must visit again to see. One time I was mad enough to hit all the konditorei to try their signature cakes 🤤

No issues with that in winter. Hard to pickpocket in sub zero temperatures with gloves on 😛
